On tap at Brickhouse BBQ in Madison, Wisconsin. Served in a shaker pint glass 11/23/2014.

A- Clear straw yellow with one finger white head, average in terms of substance and froth; good retention and nice lacing. [3.5]

S- Bready malts, grassy hops, a bit of caramel; nothing too complicated. [3.5]

F- Biscuits, caramel, grassy hop bitterness. A bit of toffee sweetness as well. [3.5]

M- Medium bodied, a bit higher in carbonation than I am used to, but crisp and refreshing. Very drinkable. Easy to hydrate with this one. [4]

O- A fairly decent APA, nothing that is mind blowing or different but it fits the archetypes of an easy to drink, mildly bitter APA. [3.5]

Final score: 3.55

A very good pale ale. Smooth, floral on the front, pine bite on the back. Solid pale ale that I would revisit, but this is on the lower end of Lagunitas IPA offerings.

Okay, moving on from the Weyerbacher, here's Lagunitas Pale Ale, New Dogtown, served on draught in a standard pint glass:

Appearance: A golden clear body glittering sweetly printine in the light, with a two-finger white head that never dissipates, down, down, down the glass. It's not going anywhere. Beautiful. Gorgeous lacing follows the head all the way to the bottom of the glass. Wow. That's just... awesome.

Aroma: Hops on the nose right away, followed by a distinct floral fragrance. Not bad.

Taste: Pine. A touch of citrus in tone. Good and solid with some bitterness on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, with light carbonation throughout. Bitterness at the back of the tongue.

Overall: A decent pale ale, and I was really impressed by its look. The taste was surprisingly complex, and it held its own all the way to the end. A solid effort from Lagunitas.
