Poured into a Sierra Nevada pint glass. No readable freshness date.

A- Pours a clean, dark gold color with an 1/8 inch head that doesn't retain long and sinks down to a ring around the glass and the usual surface bubbles.

S- Wet, fresh hops. Smells clean, almost like wet glass, yet pungent.

T- Quite hoppy for a pale ale, yet not overly bitter. Grassy, mildly piney. Has a moderate fruitiness given the more hop-forward stab at the style. Pretty high in alcohol for an APA but hidden well enough.

M- Medium-low carbonation. A bit of oily slickness due to the hop content. Some tart quality also becomes apparent from the bitterness.

O- More like a straight up IPA but who's keeping score? Another great beer from a great brewery.

12oz bottle in a tulip.

A-Poured a light golden-orange color with a 2-finger head that tapers to a bubbly film. Fat rings of lacing. Slight haze.

S- Pleasant fruit hoppiness. Mildly sweet fruit notes are a nice change from the citrus hops.

T- Pale and caramel malts compliment the hop fruitiness. Dry toasted malt. Not sweet.

M- Refreshing with medium body. Good carbonation. Hop tang and dry finish. Slightly metallic.

O- Nice drinking pale ale.

Lagunitas New Dog Town Pale Ale has a very thick, creamy, cream-colored head, a semi-clear, orange-golden appearance, a large amount of floaties, and some splotchy lacing left behind. The aroma is of pine oil, some subdued fruit, sweetness, white bread, and bread crust. Taste is of all that, with a pronounced hop bite on the undertaste- this beer is hoppier than some East Coast IPAs! Mouthfeel is medium, soft, and slick, and Lagunitas New Dog Town Pale Ale finishes dry, refreshing, and drinkable. I score this one most excellent. Good stuff!
