I knew nothing about this beer before I grabbed it off the shelf at Whole Foods in Red Bank, New Jersey before heading down to my friends place at Long Beach Island.
There was nothing but the color of the beer to even remotely identify that this beer was a stout. Totally random beer.
This beer is probably about year old. I think the prcie was 3.99. Do we see a trend here with the beer? 3.99 and flecks of particulate floaters in the bottle?
On with the review.
Appearance. floaters, lot ans lots of floaters. Otherwise this beer is dark, and moderately carbonated.
Aroma is toffee and unsweetened chocolate.
Warming and alcoholic, very dark beer.
Rich and chocolaty, rich with alcohol and warming on the palate.
Chunky and dank mouthfeel, as it warms it becomes this sensationally sticky beer. Some residual sweetness to it.
Aside front he huge globs of matter floating in my beer, it was mostly decent.

Found this '08 oddity randomly. "BoppaDooAyDoo Style Ale," poured from a 22oz bottle into a Spiegelau tulip.
A: Pours a brownish-black with a small tan-head. A little bit of lacing.
S: Molasses, brown sugar, a bit of mushy dried fruit like prune, a bit of chocolate.
T: Tastes more like a dark barleywine than an RIS. Smooth dark fruit (fig, prune, raisin), roasted grain, brown sugar, subtle chocolate, a little bit of alcohol. A bit of oxidation and metallic notes in the middle.
M: Very fine carbonation with a relatively thick body.
O: Not nearly as bad as I expected. Obviously past its prime, yet still pretty tasty.
