This IPA pours a transparent golden with a big frothy white head packed with foam and dense carbonation bubbles. The huge white head patiently dissipates leaving a sticky white lacing in its wake.
Wow, a big piney hop aroma wafts from the head complimented by grapefruit and grass notes. It really smells like a handful of hops that you just rubbed together.
The citrus flavor of grapefruit and other fruit such as pineapple are more apparent in the taste, but the fresh woodsy hop flavor definitely packs it in. Repeated samples also reveal some floral notes. As the beer warms there may even be some oat like malt.
Medium in body, possibly a bit syrupy although not characteristic, medium carbonation, and a nice dry finish to compliment the array of flavors.
The bottle does not lie, this is just a good American Ale. Worth its weight in humor and enjoyment, not to mention a bargain price wise. A 22oz. Of this is perfect for one sitting with tons of flavor and a nice abv. Mission accomplished Lagunitas, also a good example of the style in my opinion.
