22oz bottle given to me in a trade with mjl21...Mike thanks for everything!
A- Pours a clear darker golden amber color. Not too dark but a little darker than what I expected. Good 2 finger off white head that came and went pretty fast leaving some sticky lacing on the sides of the glass.
S- On the nose upfront was a citrus (pineapple and grapefruit) hop aroma followed by a somewhat bitter (piney) earthy hop aroma. Those two were followed by a bready malt underbody that was everywhere in the aroma but just now coming out. Had a slight soapy smell to this as well that was underlying the entire nose...didn't know if this was suppose to be there or not.
T- Good hop upfront with this. Citrus (pineapple, orange, and grapefruit) hops come through the forfront of this beer and minglel nicely with the bitter piney hops that they used. The middle of this beer has a refreshing bready malt taste to it with earthy hops balancing out the middle. Kind of a bitter hop crisp finish. Sadly also the soapy detail of the nose came back around and reared its ugly head. Can taste a faint soap flavor in the background with this.
M- This has a medium-light mouthfeel to it. Carbonation is on par with this style. Beer flows across the palate in a hoppy but refined sence leaving some hop resin on the tounge.
D- This is a drinkable beer that I am glad to have gotten the chance to try. I would be more than happy to drink another but would hope that soapy feel left the beer. Overall I am impressed with this beer and only wish I could get it in Indiana.
