Pours a pure honey/gold into an oversize nonic. No haze, a small off-white head and impressive head lacing for an APWA. Looks refreshing!
Smell is soft tropical fruit (tangerine, orange), the slightest bit of hop bitterness, and maybe a hint of sweet grass. There is a little hop astringency and some floral notes. Also very refreshing smelling!
The taste is hop bitterness & a little hop oil/astringency (not overwhelming for me, pleasant). There is a floral/earthy component. Once I tasted it, the smell turned more towards dried grass and floral esters. There is some grainy/malt character there on the tongue (I believe I can taste the wheat) as well as some sweet vegetable/tobacco notes. Not as drying as an IPA on the back end, but still warm. Light to medium body, not as much on the crisp side as creamy. This beer lost me just a little on the bitter aftertaste.
Overall a good beer and a great take on the style. Drinkable and refreshing.

Poured bottle into glass. 7.5 % abv
Appearance- Pours a translucent golden yellow with a lively two finger head that hangs around.
Smell- Ripe orange along with grapefruit citrus hints. Sweet bready malt as well.
Taste- A fresh toasted biscuit malt flavor arrives and quickly develops into a strong wheat character. This wheat flavor blends along nicely with the citric hop bitterness as the two tastes co-mingle with each other. This wheat/hop taste pairing of this beer is interesting and different to me. Very easy drinking.
Mouthfeel- Surprisingly light and thin for the vibrant taste and 7.5 percent abv. Well done.
Overall- A very interesting and delicious beer that is both wheaty and hoppy. A top among the APWA style for sure. As my first Lagunitas beer I was impressed. A must try for those seeking a tasty and potent warm weather brew.
