Haven't had the pleasure of drinking this little fella in quite some time...mmm...tasty.
Great clarity and equally fine golden color. Head retention dies off a bit as expected, but the lacing is thick and foamy.
Lots of fruit on the nose: orange peel, pineapple, pear and green apple, some red grapefruit, maybe even a touch of apricot. As it warms the wheat comes through a touch; definitely some malt character as it reaches room temp.
Flavors don't disappoint. Lingering apple rinds on the back palate along with some light pineapple notes. Front is a citrus bomb...kaboom. Lemon, almost akin to lemonade, some bitter grapefruit as well. Definitely has a helluva hop bite throughout but most noticeably on the finish, especially for a wheat beer.
Body is crisp, clean, and refreshing. Nice carbonation on this one that lends well to summer sippin'. A bit of residual stickiness so you never forget those glorious hops.
Definitely a bit of a heavy hitter coming in a touch over 7%, but these are pretty easy drinking as far as the abv goes. The alcohol is definitely not pronounced here. Kick back, relax, and enjoy.

I first tasted this one at an event that included Lagunitas, Ballast Point, and Dogfishhead and I found myself back for several little cups of this newfound gold. An aromatically distinct, smooth ale with almost Brown ale qualities in a hoppier golden form. This one has has quickly become a staple within my rotation of beers that can be bought in a grocery store. A great beer.
