Single bottle (no date) poured into a shaker pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy, but bright golden-orange color with a 1/4" dense off-white head. Strands, walls, and islands of lacing on the glass. Plenty of bubbles coming up through the beer. A very nice looking beer.

Smell: This is a very hoppy beer - very strong in grapefruit and mango smells, with some pine thrown in for good measure. Very appealing.

Taste: A perfect blend of citrus forward hops, a solid malt middle, and then a pine-like bitter hop finish. I'm not getting any wheat here but this is a well-done beer for something so hoppy.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation is fleeting on the tongue (it's there and then is gone) followed by a good thickness to the beer that lingers but not too long. There is a coating on the tongue and teeth afterwards (probably all that hop oil) but I'm not complaining. Nice.

Drinkability: I noted the higher ABV fairly quickly with this one, but that's because it was so good that I drank it fairly quickly. That being said, this one is dangerous - I want another one but I know I shouldn't it. It's a great beer - went fantastic with a meal (mustard pork-chops and potato gnocchi) and I think it would be good alone also. I can see why so many people have rated this beer highly - it is a very very good beer.

A: Light amber color. Not as dark as I expected. Lots of head (3-4 fingers on an aggressive pour). Head is slow to recede away.

S: Fruity and flowery like I'd expect from an IPA. Not too pungent or overpowering. Promises to be flavorful - yet not too much.

T: I am not a fan of bitter. This is right on the edge of too bitter for me. Not a stop, drop and roll - but not a power it down either. Bitter early, nice in the mid palate, then there is an astringent feel late.

M: Dry feeling throughout.

O: Probably not a repeat. The bitter is too far forward for my tastes.

Served out of 12oz. bottle and poured into an American pint glass. The 6-pack was purchased at Jewel-Osco. I couldn't find any sort of date stamp on the bottle.

A - a nice orange body with a frothy and somewhat thick white head. Lacing along the entire glass for the duration of drinking the beer.

S - Smells like a hoppy IPA which is what I thought the style of this beer was before looking it up on here. There is deffinately the citrus orange/grapefruit scent to this beer that is typical of an IPA which brought around my confusion.

T - Grapefruit and pine tasting with a hint of wheat. The after taste really brings out the wheat and makes you want to go ahead and drink some more.

M - Bitter and crisp feeling on the mouth with a decent amount of carbonation. Leaves your mouth with a nice dry finish.

O - This is a delicious beer and my favorites from Lagunitas which is hard for me to say because I love almost everything that they make. One of my most favorite beers overall and clear go to when nothing else sounds good.
