Poured from a growler into a .25l Brasseurs mug.

Pours a nice yellow, honey orange and gold color with a slight hazy appearance. Has a huge honey comb colored head that leaves sticky lacy down the glass. The aroma is huge pineapple, orange peel and some sweet grapefruit. there is a nice hint of sweetness on the front of the nose and the malt creeps through to balance out the aromas but this is definitely hop forward on the aroma. The taste is very much like the aroma. It has a huge kick of sweet pineapple and orange peel. I get a little bit of a bitter grapefruit rather than sweet on the taste, but it works great with the other hop flavors. There is a malt presence that balances this enough to keep it from being a total hop bomb. Smooth arrival to the hops and dry finish. The mouthfeel is spot on for an IPA. Really has a big kick of carbonation that cleanses the palate while opening it up to all the huge flavors this beer has to offer. Not over sticky or sweet at all for such a high hop profile. Overall this is a great beer and very accessible. I wish it were year round. Definitely worth seeking out and trying.

Shared a growler of this with the lady over homemade mac and cheese and fish stick. It was a wonderful combination. It was a great hazy mustard color with a foamy head that left some solid lacing. It smelled of pine, hops, citrus, and a hint of wheat. The wheat came thru more in the taste. It kind of reminds me of Bell's Two Hearted Ale. Solid, I hope it continues to be readily available. Good West Coast IPA.

A: pours clear pale gold. Head is about a finger and a half of white foam. Head does last a decent amount and leave some small lacing.
S: light grapefruit hop, lightly sweet, and just a very light touch of pine.
T: hops lend toward grapefruit with more pine on the back end. Nice amount of sweetness, a touch of honey.
M: smooth nice carbonation, lingers but not coating.
O: good all around, balanced hop and malt.

A - Orangy Gold with a thick, luscious white head. Makes me drool in anticipation of the first sip.

S - Wonderful citrus smells attack my nostrils: Orange, Lemon, grapefruit, etc.

T - Orange, Lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, etc. Grassy hops add some twang. Full of great flavors to tantalize your taste buds!

M - Fully moderate body with ticklish carbonation. An easy drinker.

O - This is one of my all time favorite beers. It has so much good stuff going on! A favorite for spring and summer.

A: Pale golden color reminiscent of a wheat beer, but more clear. Not lager clear, but far clearer than a average wheat beer. Very big head when poured that dissipates to a half a finger and pretty much remain through the glass. Laces nicely.

S: Citrus overtones with a pine smell. Kinda like my Grand Fir Christmas tree in my living room. Smells a bit hoppy when brought to your nose. (I gave the smell a 3.5 because I am not fond of hoppy smelling citrusy beer - some love it.)

T: Not hoppy like it smells. Perhaps the wheat counteracts the hoppy smell. I is not a traditional Belgian wheat style, but something different.

M: Smooth and not a stong carbonation although very fine bubbles continue throughout the glass.

D: I would say this is very drinkable. I will have no problem crushing the growler.

Paid $8.99 for a growler at the local beer store and as usual, any Lagunitas is a good call. Will drink this again - preferably in the summer.

Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale 7.3% abv
Growler fill from tap at BierKraft. Poured into shaker, Super aroma of hops and citrus when poured. Very bubbly large white head, head glued it self to the sides of the glass and is long lasting. I've just poured my third glass and this is quite drinkable. Each pour the head gets larger and more sticky. Slightly cloudy golden color. Smooth mouthfeel, light and bitter on the tongue. Taste great, nice smooth drinkable and wheat pale ale. Mostly pale ale with some wheat.

I got my growler filled at Whole Foods in Richmond, VA today.

I just popped it open to give it a go. This poured a nice golden orange color with a slight reddish tint if viewed at certain angles. Also had just enough haze to not be able to see much through the beer.

This beer smells strong of hops and citrus.

Tasting it I was expecting more bitterness due to the strong hop set but there was almost no bitterness. Nice pine, citrus flavors in this beer. To me the taste, bitterness, finish are very well balanced here.

This overall is a very enjoyable beer. I almost wish I had gotten two growlers of it.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. I am somehow just now finally getting around to reviewing this one; it has been years since I've last had this beer. Looking forward to having it again. Listed here as an American pale wheat ale, I always thought it was an IPA.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a bright juicy orange body. Light chill haze, with three big fluffy fingers of white head. Very good head retention for the high 7.50% abv. Good thick scattered white lacing. Looks very nice.

S - The nose has all of the traditional aromas of a hoppy IPA - orange, grapefruit, papaya, pine, fruit rinds. Some soapiness present. A juicy tropical fresh smelling aroma.

T - Taste follows the nose - big bitter grapefruit / orange rinds, piney, herbal, hoppy. Lemongrass / wheat presence. The wheat is more noticeable on the taste than on the aroma. Very nicely balanced.

M - Feel is crisp, creamy, and bitter. Resinous piney hops. Dry on the finish. Light bodied with good carbonation.

Overall, a delicious beer from Lagunitas, it's easy to see why this is one of their flagship beers. Deliciously drinkable.

This is now my favorite beer, it was my 3rd try at American Hoppy Wheat beers. GumballHead, 80 Acre and then a Little Sumpin. Great cloudy color, terrific foamy head. I really like the citrus profiles these beers have. I like that it has a higher ABV%, the tangerine flavors don't cloud or fight the beer taste. I can't wait for the brewery to open up in Chicago.

Bottle poured into snifter.

A : golden amber clear color, white head that dissipates pretty quickly, great lacing.

S : Citrus-y hops with a piney smell to it.

T : A mild bitterness that disappears, then not sweet but fruity and flavorful.

M : Medium carbonation. Very little bitterness. Light to medium body goes down easy.

O : Pours great, smells excellent, and tastes even better. One of my favorites.

My first pass with this beer was mediocre, but the second was much better. The yeast used with this brew is what makes it special. It has a unique and interesting flavor. It is certainly worth trying. It has a bit of a wild yeast character to it while still being clean and refreshing.

Draft- Providence coal Fire.

Appearance- golden robust, great lacing.

Aroma- citrus bombshell.

Taste- light pine with almost grapefruit quality, nice acidity some mineral grass notes.

Comments- Fu@?#%g Great!! Hands down the Number 1 IPA of all time. Can't get enough of that beauty. Lil Sumpin pairs so well with a vindaloo curry any night of the week. "It's a home run!" The guy at Providence beverage they call Dennis.

Poured from the bottle, this beer is golden in color with a clear body. The nose on this beer is quite pronounced, featuring scents of citrus, mainly orange/tangerine, with tropical and floral notes. The white foam features somewhat larger bubbles and it does leave some lacing.

This beer has a delicious flavor that combines tropical fruit, oranges, pineapple, a little bit of honey, and wheat. The beer has a refreshing crispness and the bitterness, while supposedly 60 IBU, doesn’t seem that high and is actually well balanced for this style.

Lagunitas has scored a major hit with this beer. The nose and flavor are addictive and the beer just keeps getting better and better with each passing sip. I love the combination of tropical fruit flavors- they combine to create a flavor that most any person will find acceptable at the very least, including those who are not normally IPA fans. It’s a very tasty beer that earns a big thumbs up from me.

Poured from a bottle into tulip glass at around 45°F

Appearance: Slightly hazy golden yellow color with a nice one finger white head.

Smell: Mostly a floral/tropical smell and also that syrupy hop extract I get from Lagunitas' hoppy beers.

Taste: Great balance between resiny hop extract and citrus flavors. I don't really get any wheat in the taste.

Mouthfeel: Light medium body. Not too bitter and goes down extremely smooth. Very refreshing.

Overall: This beer isn't very true to the style in my opinion as I don't get much wheat flavor, which is probably why this is my favorite wheat ale lol. This would make for a perfect lighter tasting and drinkable IPA. Perfect beer for the summer. How is this 7.5%? My favorite Lagunitas's beer along with Hop Stoopid. Highly recommended.

A: Pours a brilliant golden color with a nice fluffy white head. Good retention and lacing.

S: Grapefruit and floral notes mostly, with a bit of caramel in the background. Aroma is somewhat bready as well.

T: About the same as the nose, with more of an emphasis on the citrus character. Very well balanced. Spicy and biscuity for the finish with a bit of lingering hoppiness.

M: Light to medium body with a nice amount of carbonation. Little bit dry on the aftertaste.

O: Extremely drinkable beer, and is one of my go-to session brews. Balanced and very tasty.

Pours a brilliant golden with a billowing ivory head that lingers.

Pineapple, dank cannabis, resin, and fruit cocktail form the aroma. Extremely complex, and not at all what I expected.

Flavor is less fruity, tending more toward the resiny side, but tropical fruit does ever in a softer form. What forms the backbone, bridging the gap between fruity and resiny hops.

Body is a touch on the light side, with moderate carbonation and light alcohol warmth.

Probably the best American wheat ale I've had. Wish the fruity character were more pronounced in the flavor, bit a great beer, overall.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Pint Glass..

A) Pours a pale yet bold golden color, a lot of light penetrating this brew showing off the decent amount of carbonation within. Half an inch of semi-dense white head covers the top but fades fairly quickly.

S) Very biscuity and very floral, and the combination of the two pair together perfectly to make quite the nice smelling brew. A touch of lemon rounds off the scent nicely.

T) The taste almost mirrors the nose which is exactly what I was hoping for. The floral rushes the palate but is taken over by a mild bitterness, ultimately balancing each other out to near perfection. Dried grass, oh so yummy.

M) The body is medium-light with no overpowering yeasts or hops to linger. Finishes very smooth.

O) I'm rather new to the world of hoppy wheats... if they're all this damn good, it looks like I will have to keep indulging. Great brew Lagunitas!
