I'll keep this short...un-like me.

As a pale, this is arguably one of the best pales out there.

As a wheat...100% the best wheat beer I've EVER had. (I adore hops)

This was the best sumpin sumpin suprise I've had in reference to the syle of beer it is labeled as. (pale wheat) This beer holds it's own with most IPA's out there.

The wheat is there...but presented as only a small compliment to some GREAT citrissy hops.

Note... I'm not really a fan of Lagunitas Staple IPA that's on tap everywhere but their hoppy seasonals are always amazing.

For hop heads Like me...who are turned off when they see anything wheat beer...this will without a doubt make you a believer that wheat beer can be good.

Did I say I'd keep this short???

Poured into a sam adams custom glass, color is straw to copper, head is light tan nice and dense, not much lacing but good looking brew.

Smell is floral, grapefruit, zest and lemony, hint of pine, malt is subdued but definitely a fresh smelling brew.

Taste is very well balanced with wheat and pale malts providing backbone, but the hops come through so strongly in a great tasting way, fresh, floral, fruity in terms of grapefruit/lemon.

Mouthfeel is more on the bitter side, as expected, maybe distracts from the wheat presence, but still very good.

Overall, a very nicely done, slightly unique brew - I need to add more wheat to my homebrewed IPAs.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: A nice sized white head. Great head retention and lacing. Darker golden yellow, like a malt liquor.

Smell: Sweet and fruity hops. Grapefruit and orange.

Taste: Citric hops and a light body. Alcohol is a little noticeable.

This beer is heavy on the hops and alcohol and light on the malts, like many popular California brews. If that's your thing you'll like this beer.

12oz bottle, no date. Summer 2010 batch labeled @ 7.5% ABV.

Pours clear gold/yellow with a two finger foamy white head. Was kinda hoping for some haze, but this is crystal clear. Leaves some initial rings of lacing and maintains a faint cap.

Aroma is very hoppy up front, particularly citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, keep inhaling and some wheat and banana come into play. Pretty one-dimensional, but pretty darn nice.

Flavor also starts very hoppy, citrus, pine, earthy hops, some wheat characteristics but they are having a hard time fighting against the hops. Finishes relatively dry with some lingering bitterness.

Mouthfeel is thin, medium carbonation, very easy drinking...perhaps a bit dangerous at 7.5% ABV.

A deceptive brew. I hate wheat beers, but I sure do like this one. 'Course this is more IPA than Wheat so that helps score points with my palate.

Scoring this one to style is tough as it is categorized as a Wheat Ale here, but this has far more IPA characteristics than Wheat. However, since it is in this (perhaps wrong) category, its gonna score really high for me as I hate Wheats but love IPAs...

This is a wheat beer? I honestly couldn't tell. When this one was going down, my impression was that it was another hoppy IPA-ish brew (also called, "Strong" from what I've seen). On tap at Founding Farmers in DC, most noticeable factors in this light yellow beer were its huge fruitiness, which is mainly pineapple and citrus. These help bring some sweetness to the fairly strong hop presence. A light beer, light body, pretty high in carbonation. Overall, a respectable beer, but not standard for the style, in the least. Solid.

12oz bottle, bottled the beginning of april, consumed the middle of may.

light honey amber color with a big fluffy head. smell is tangy tropical fruit, pine, lemon-lime. taste is light and wheaty, with a big hop punch at the end. feel is medium and not astringent.

a very hoppy and malty wheat beer. another great lagunitas beer.

Pours light gold and clear with two fingers of foam that won’t fall down. Lots of clinging lace. The nose is grapefruit, pine and a little resin. As it warms it smells like wheat and honey. The malt is a surprising standout in the glass. Bready and lots of biscuit. The hops are vigorous earthy and herbal. Their spiciness is tamed down by the big malt character. What a surprise this beer was. A celebration of hops without being overly fruity or bitter. A celebration of pale malt that was straightforward and not overly sweet . Robust yet easy to drink with a lightly oily mouthfeel and a long dry finish. This beer really does have a little sumpin’ sumpin’.

I had this on tap as well as bottle the tap brew had a lot more hop character
The tulip glass that was handed to me had a great three finger head with tons of lacing . The body was amber in color and a bit cloudy.

The nose was hop forward nice citrus and floral I think the wheat adds to this. Another thing the wheat does is keep this beer light in the mouthfeel making it dangerous to drink. The flavor is bitter citrus’ with a light sweetness in the finish. Great carbonation and a fun beer to drink.

Overall a good IPA hybrid, if I found it on tap I would not turn it down.

A: Clear, golden-yellow with a big, fluffy, white head. Little lace and decent retention.

S: Sweet, fruity, juicy hops with sweet malt and some booze.

T: Fruity, oily hop presence, pale, sweet, lightly roasted malt with an even fresher, fruitier, drier hop presence in the finish. A hint of booze at the end. The wheat shows itself throughout, as well. The wheat gives a unique flavor, indeed. Hops are pronounced and highly delicious.

M: Hoppy, smooth, sweet, boozy. A very enjoyable beer to drink.

O: In my opinion, of the great examples of the style. Would easily drink this again, especially on draft.

12oz bottle, served in a standard pint glass

A - foamy and soapy bright white foam, decent amount of spotty lacing around the glass. the beer is crystal clear, light amber in color.

S - loaded with Amarillo hops, sweet and floral, with some candied citrus...very clean

T - following the nose with bright floral hops, orange sugar candy, and tangerines. light subtle layer of sweet wheat malt lies underneath. yummy.

M - medium bodied with tight punchy carbonation, pleasently creamy. lingering fruity sweetness.

D - this was recently one of the first "clone" type recipes i brewed - love the style for its hop assertiveness yet ease of drink. hides a 7.5ABV very dangerously. give me more!
