Appearance:
The beer pours a fairly vigorous head that lasts quite a bit after the initial pour. The head is white and leaves lacing. The beer itself is a clear amber color.

Smell:
The beer has a grapefruit and floral smell, which would be the hops and there appears to be a slight grassy smell as well. The wheat malt gives it a slight sweet aroma that complements the hops very well.

Taste:
The beer has a more grapefruit taste with slight hints of wheat malt. The hops dominate the palate and leave a bitterness with a hint of sweetness as the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel:
Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Overall:
A pretty unique and good tasting beer. I'll have to remember to place this in my summer rotation.

12oz bottle poured into a globe. Bottled August 14 of hopefully this year.

A: A slow pour gave me three-plus fingers. Body is a lovely light bronze.

S: Smells great! Good amount of fruity hops and a bit of peppery spice. Some grapefruit, pear, mango and rye.

T: Real nice. Starts slow and refreshing and then hits you with a big burst of flavor mid-palate. The rye spiciness from the aroma provides a flavorful dry finish.

M: Body is light to medium. Carb is on the high side. Texture is fairly dry, but refreshing.

O: More complexity than your typical pale wheat beer. The abundance of hops certainly contributes to this. Some of the hop characteristics remind me of Flower Power although I wouldn’t say that these are similar beers. A terrific full-flavored warm weather beer.

Appearance: Great cotton-like foam. Solid golden. Definitely has the traditional look of a filtered wheat ale. Carbonation is a bit absent.

Smell: Fresh grapefruit and grass. This li'l sumpin' sumpin' also has a slight herbal/floral scent. IPA qualities all around.

Taste/Mouthfeel: This really tastes like an IPA. Bitter grapefruit hops and some floral notes. The grapefruit notes fit the smell, but the floral flavors are definitely faint. Pretty full-bodied like a good IPA, which I wouldn't expect in a wheat ale, and I definitely like.

Overall Drinkability: A suprising ale. The alcohol really hits you on this one. Great flavors and smells.
