Serving: Bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: Brilliantly clear, almost orange-ish in appearance. Glows in the glass.

S: Extreme citrus and tropical fruit (think pineapple) at the beginning, then a strong punch of pine at the finish.

T: Bitter, but not out of style. The wheat content of this beer blends interestingly with the high hoppiness. Finish is that of pine with a nice mellow balance of hops and citrus.

M: Clean and bright. Highly carbed, but well within style limits.

O: A great beer. A good stepping stone for those not ready to jump into the big boys of the IPA fold.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a clear, medium golden amber. One finger fine off-white head with a hint of wheat. Flavor follows, excellent retention and lacing. Great aroma of pine and citrus hops, lemon, caramel malt, pine and citrus hops with grapefruit and lemon, light sweet malt supports the other flavors. Wheat flavors subdued by the hops and citrus. Very nice medium, creamy body with an superb mouth feel. Very tasty and well made. Not really to style for an American pale wheat ale; not cloudy, not pale, wheat element rather subdued. However judged as another fine Lagunitas product, an interesting and tasty take on a wheat ale.

On tap at 2012 Autumn Brew Review, from notes.

Pour was slightly hazy, orange, with a billowing white foam head and lots of lace.

Smell was ripe citrus fruit. Grapefruit and oranges, and pine. Hints of wheat and pale malt. Taste is very similar to nose. Loads of ripe citrus, orange, grapefruit, pineapple along with wheat, cracker and even a little bite of pine resin. Medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium with strong carbonation. Very juicy. Delicious.

Poured from the bottle.

Clear and golden-yellow in colour. Heavy citrus-hop nose. Light, refreshing citrus-hop flavour that lingers slightly. It was pretty light and easily drinkable. This is a good session-beer.

Would I buy it again? Yes.

WOW !!.... This is the best beer I've had thusfar out of an already appreciated brewery.... As I poured a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass, a massive head appears atop a clear golden brew.... While I'm drinking it, a beautiful and plentiful lacing occurs....

I take a smell, and my initial thoughts are of how hoppy this beer is.... It has a mostly hoppy and wheaty dominated scent with citrusy notes of lemon and orange.... Funny thing is that this beer is so complex that it even has sweet notes of candy.... Almost like cotton candy.... Pretty crazy....

As I'm sipping it, the complexity really comes to life as I taste not only the wheat, hops, and citrus of this brew, but also taste hints of honey, pineapple, and mango....

It has an average medium-bodied finish that has a wonderful aftertaste....

Overall, this is by far the best Lagunitas brew I've had to date.... I wish this weren't a seasonal, because it's excellent.... Definitely pick yourself up a six-pack of this brew while it lasts.... I certainly will be grabbing another.
