A 12oz bottle with no visible BB date. Picked up at the GBBF a little while back. I've been looking forward to this one...

Poured into a Delirium chalice. A rich sunset hue with good carbonation. Surprisingly clear. Yields a vast head of creamy white foam with good retention; this slowly reduces to a surface layer. The aroma is a kaleidoscope of intense, fruity hops with a backbone of sweet caramel malt. Notes of grapefruit, orange, lemon, citrus, pine, malt and a hint of wheat. Unusually sweet; almost sugary. Superb - not sure this could be improved.

Tastes like a hop barn with a hefty dose of malt chucked in! Notes of grapefruit, orange peel, citrus oils, pine resin, caramel, subtle yeast and stewed hops. Rather sweet but well balanced. A considerable bitterness upon swallowing; dry, spicy and astringent. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly, spicy and dry, with good body. Can't help feeling it ought to be a tad more carbonated though. Quite astringent, with an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops.

Wow - this is one amazing brew. Now I wish I could grab one whenever I like. A ton of aromatic hops and plenty of malt. The sweetness borders on sugary, but is kept in check by hop bitterness. Can't say I taste much wheat (as this is supposed to be a wheat ale) - it's more like an American IPA in character. Might also benefit from bottle conditioning? But I'm nit-picking; this is a superb beer and goes into my top 10. Add it to your must-try list and grab one if you see it.

A: Pours a nice clear golden-orange with a nice fluffy head. Very nice looking beer, much clearer than I expected... but in a good way. Nice lacing as you drink it down.

S: Smells awesome - one of the best non barrel-aged beers I've had the pleasure of enjoying. Nice, bright fruity hops. Smells like it's going to be a nice strong IPA, although doesn't smell of the resin-y bitterness of some other strongly hopped beers. I could "sniff" this all day.

T: Taste is much more subtle than the nose. Very clean tasting, without a ton of flavor, but a bit of fruity hop... as another reviewer suggested, it almost tastes "juicy". Very little bitterness, which is surprising given the hops in the nose... but is very welcome. Has all of the smell of hops I love with out very much bitterness. Excellent and very easy to drink.

M: Nice clean and easy to drink. Carbonated, but not overly-so. Medium body. Again, almost "juicy" in the mouth feel as well.

O: This is an excellent beer; one of the best I've had. Much better than I was even expecting. Dangerously drinkable even with the high ABV. This is one that will make it's way into my regular lineup and will probably always be in my fridge come the summer.

Into a pint glass:

A: clear orange colored body and gives a one finger foamy white head, has a very nice, almost perfect spider web lacing appears. No carbonation is seen rising.

S: has the citrus and pine up front with some light malts in the background.

T: pine a bit more in front than the rest of the flavors.

M: medium with nothing harsh on the tongue, standard.

O: wow, I actually did not think this beer was going to be this good. Right now, I'm wishing I would have bought a six pack of this.
