One of my favorite beers ever, hits the spot just right at 8.5%, and has loads of hops and flavor I seek out in lighter colored beers.

Pours a medium yellow with a frothy white head that sticks to the glass.

Smell is of BIG citrus, orange, lemon, and grapefruit. Also there are notes of pine and sour apple.

Taste is the same with a huge citrus component. Slight apricot and nectarine flavors as well. Some biscuit and grain, but very fruity.

Feel is just right, can't go left or right with the carb, and a decent flavor per sip value.

Overall I can't stress this more, this is a very nice beer with a big wallop of flavor. It hits the spot, and exceeds expectations.

Intensely hoppy, one of Lagunitas' best.

A: Mine is clear honey-gold, with a mushrooming dense, lasting head and loads of sticky lace, lots of fine bubbles.

S: Ample fresh citrus rind of several types blend with apricot body, summer hay, and drying ganja hops / herbs.

T: Great see-saw between sweet estery tropical fruit and plenty of hop bitterness that goes long on top of a wheat cracker base. Neither the alcohol or sweet bother me, as they are nicely balanced by long bitter peppery, lemony finish.

MF: Plenty of counter balances of bitterness, stinging tingling hops to the sweet, juicy fruit body, keeps beer really interesting and fun to roll round your mouth.

It's a food beer. A must try. up there with Sculpin.

Appearance: It has a nice semi-hazy golden/orange color to it. It has a nice off-white head that dies down moderately slow and leaves some nice lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of citrus, light grapefruit, pine resins and some sweet bready malts.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has some citrus, light grapefruit, loads of bitter pine resins, a light grassiness and some sweet bready malts.

Mouthfeel: It has a medium carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a goblet.

A - 4.75 - An attractive bronze/orange number and perfectly clear. Head is thick, fluffy and white. It piles into rocky crags and slowly fades. Sheets of lacing. A great looking beer.

S - 4.25 - Aroma leans strongly on hops, as expected. The hops come across with some citrus, but mostly an earthy, herbal impression. They are not piney or grapefruity at all. Faint bready malt in the background and the tiniest hint of yeast fruitiness.

T - 4.5 - Clean, crisp hops start things off. This is followed by bready malt and a honey-like sweetness. In the finish the hops come roaring back to dry things out slightly and create a lingering aftertaste. Yeast and alcohol provide some complexity in the finish as well. Complex and flavorful.

M - 4.5 - Medium to heavy body. Smooth, effervescent carbonation lightens the apparent body somewhat. Some alcohol presence but not extreme. Hops bitterness is moderate to high, but balances well with the other components.

O - 4.5 - This is a big, satisfying beer, but well balanced. The focus is on hops but there is enough malt sweetness among other factors to keep it from being a one-trick pony. Well done.
