This brew pours a golden orange color with lots of carbonation. About finger and a half of sticky white head that goes down very slowly. There's about an sixth left in the bottle. The smell is pineapple and sweet sticky hops. Lots of citrus and grapefruit with a strong malt sweetness as well.

Glug glug glug

Sweet and mellow hop bitterness invades the palate and then everything goes complex. The sweetness comes forward and the bitter taste settles down and the malt sweetness is awesome. A little more balanced than other DIPAs but at the same time lighter and with a great complexity. The mouth feel is thick and concentrated. Overall a very good DIPA.

Growler fill from Market District

Appearance: Clear golden color with a one finger foamy off white head that dissipates quickly. Plenty if lacing is left behind

Smell: Orange, pineapple, mango, floral, pine, dank, hints of honey

Taste: Sweet tropical fruits mentioned in the smell upfront that fades into a piney, citrus finish and aftertaste. The burps are amazing on this one! It's like taking a sip all over again!

Mouthfeel: Medium body; Very soft and delicately smooth with slight bitterness

Overall: I have yet to try Sucks, but this just may be my favorite lagunitas beer to date. Shch fresh qualities to it and goes down extremely smooth for almost 9%. At $7.99 a.64 oz.growler at my local store, you won't get better for the price, and to me is the perfect Enjoy By substitute. Too bad I haven't been able to find this in bottles. Still on the hunt! One of my favorite IPAs to date and highly recommended! Cheers!!

Pours a golden body with large head and lace patches. Aroma is citric hop dominance but there are notes of grapefruit sweetness as well. Well balanced and the hops are plentiful and beer remains smooth, some minor sweet malts but finish is dry with a dryness of bread or cracker. An IPA that is real simple but excellently constructed and a must have.

Serving: Bottle
Served: 19 July 2014

Appearance: Unfortunately had to have this from the bottle since I was at a party. Great bottle art though with the Lagunitas Pin Up. Classic.

Smell: Huge hop presence in the nose- lots of bitter grapefruit, lemon zest, and other citrus notes. Barely any malts in the nose at all.

Taste: Hops add massive flavoring but not much bittering. This is a citrus bomb full of juicy hops. Really excellent flavor for a DIPA without being big and boozy. Malts and alcohol do not play a huge role in this beer and keep the beer subdued, somewhat, for a DIPA. Reminds me a lot of a Torpedo.

Mouthfeel: Medium-high carbonation makes this one lively and full-bodied.

Overall: I really want to get my hands on another bottle of this one, since it was so promising in the bottle and I'd love to open up the nose a little more on this one. Highly recommended.
