Wow, the first bit of pour looked like orange juice and as I poured more and more in to my snifter it took on the color of orange soda, maybe a shade darker. There was a beautifully thick one finger white head that leaves some of the most beautiful lacing on the glass I have ever seen.

Smell is like a bigger version of Little Sumpin' Sumpin'... very floral with some beautiful citrus zest, pineapple and grapefruit coming up behind it. If they made this a potpourri I would have it all over my house. It smells really good. The only thing lacking, in my opinion anyway, is a little bit of pine to round out the trio.

Super floral in the taste as well, a little too floral though as it's bordering soapy. There is some bitterness to it as well but I was hoping for a bit more. Based on the appearance and smell I feel a bit let down by the taste. I really dig super citrus and pine IPAs and I think there is a reason there aren't many super floral ones but I appreciate them doing it.

Nice medium body to it, just the right amount of carbonation. Feels good, man.

Easy enough to drink even though I'm not enjoying that strong floral flavor too much. Maybe the soup I just made will bring the taste up a bit more.

This is ridiculously fresh. By my calculations (damn Julian dating) is July 11th (today is 7/28) was the bottling date. Very nice. This has a clear, golden hue with some quickly disappearing finger of white head. While this didn't explode on the nose, there were some nice, subtle aromas of astringent pine (one of my favorites), and a clean, bright citrus fragrance. The tastes were lemony, fresh, and bright... with a nice piney contribution. Really crisp and refreshing (same refreshing palate brought to mind by DirtWolf). Bit oily on the mouthfeel, but expected in a big IPA style. This was a very nice, easy drinking Imperial. I'd highly recommend giving it a try.

I was surprised to see this in the local supermarket in small town Vermont. They also had the regular Lil Sumpin, but at the same price point, I chose the 'Extra'. Poured from 12 oz bottle into a willy glass.

It's a beautiful clear, light, pale golden-yellow...almost as pale as BMC beers. Adequate head and minimal lacing.

The aroma was the big surprise. I'm a homebrewer and taking the first whiff of this beer is just like opening up a freshly-purchased package of hop pellets. The hop aroma is THAT strong. I am impressed.

The taste follows the nose with strong hops and just a little maltiness. The packaging says there is additional wheat added to this, so I expected more of that flavor profile to come out, but it's very subtle. Most prominent in the taste is the hops - dank, piney, resin, some lemon - but just fresh as can be.

The mouth is slightly thin and very dry, with nice carbonation throughout.

Overall, I love this beer. Its very refreshing, yet with in-your-face hops.
