Had on tap at Hopcat for the wood aged beer festival.
A: Pours a very cloudy brown with two quarters of tan head.

S: Loads of bourbon with mild cocoa and coffee.

T: Bourbon upfront followed by slightly sweet malt roastiness. Much less coffee, cocoa and malt in the taste then the smell. Finish is a little hoppy booziness.

M: Medium body with average carbonation.

O: Just an average BBA beer.

Comes out brown in the middle with some dark red toward the edge. Develops a super thin off white head 1/6". Aroma was hot booze, lesser bourbon allowing very little else to come in.

Taste was smooth though, the heat in the nose wasn't as strong, the toffee malt flavor was still there. Suddenly was surprised how easy drinking it was and how smooth the mouthfeel came across.

Served at the Lagunitas event at Ashley's Westland.

A: Very beautiful brown. Very little head. Some thin bubbles present on the top of the beer.

S: The bourbon smell is very predominant with undertones of caramel and malt.

T: This one tastes wonderful. Big bouron flavor up front followed by rich caramel, vanilla and oak.

M: Medium body and carbonation.

O: One of the best BA strong ales I have come across. Very glad that Lagunitas brought this one to the Ashley's event as it was the best they had to offer.

A brown pour with red ambience to it. Very little head. Aroma is straight bourbon and not much else.

Taste, bourbon comes across very smooth. Really creamy, not much heat. Prolly smoother than regular eyeball from what I recall about the base version. A little one dimensional but it does that one thing well.

On tap @ Lagunitas. Board and bartender both say it is a cask but it is served out of a CO2 tap. For those that care, it was a "wet bourbon barrel"

Pours a deep dark chocolate brown. No head bu a nice creamy CO2 ring. Fairly well carbonated.

Massive bourbon nose, smells a bit hot but not REAL hot...ok I fib...reeks of Bourbon. Caramel, molasses, booze.

First taste is a huge Bourbon creamy flavor. Lots of vanilla, booze, chocolate, sugars, very interesting. Bourbon bomb.
Nicely carbonated. Bourbon flavors hanging around, coating the mouth. I am now exhaling bourbon. Very creamy beer, hot, wakes me up. No coffee flavors. Lots of sugars.

Quite interesting , this could hang with the best of the Bourbon beers. Some time would help calm the boozy punch to the throat, although it is quite the experience now.
