22 oz bomber poured into a nonic glass. Served chilled, but not cold. I'm drinking a Lagunitas WTF as I write this.
A: The beer is a clear brown, but has a modest head that fades quickly.
S: The beer smells good, with some nice citrus notes. I also notice a background odor of onion.
T: This is the category that really counts, but I'm not finding much here to enjoy. Mostly just bitterness from the early hops, not a lot of malt or sugars to balance the bitterness. I love a strong IPA, but this I can't say that WTF is doing much for me.
M: Thin, dry, astringent, not much body, and virtually zero carbonation.
O: I like a lot of the beers Lagunitas offers, but this one doesn't measure up. I think I'd like it better if it had more crystal malts. All I'm getting is a thin beer that seems too bitter for whatever style it's trying to be. This is disappointment coming from the same brewery that produces Brown Shugga and the Sumthin' series.
