Pours a crystal clear dark copper color, with a large cream colored head that retains well. Thick lace coats the glass as it dissipates.
Sugary malt backbone (like molasses or brown sugar) coupled with some orange citrus hop aromas.
Flavor has a moderately strong malt that battles a bit with the hop elements. Fairly punchy orange and grapefruit hop flavors make their presence known, and seem to win the war but not by much. Finishes dry, with a moderate hop bitterness that lingers into the finish.
Medium body, with moderate carbonation. Slightly thick, with a little bit of a chewy element. Only complaint is that there is somewhat of a flavor fight going on with this one, but overall a good beer, and one I would try again especially if a few of the kinks were ironed out.
