1 pt 6 fl oz from FMcD's. Poured into a tulip glass.
A - a cloudy translucent orange. Minimal head that moved straight to thin lace. Second pour yields a more fluffy one finger head.
S - hop forward, sweet Belgian sugar/yeast, a tinge of butter
T - taste is in line with the aroma, at least initially. The bitterness on the finish hangs on for quite some time. There is some grass/pine, and some overtones of heat from the alcohol. Citrus (tangerine) throughout. More bread like characteristics once it warms .
M - starts off on the sharp, slightly watery side, but it has a slightly oily/creamy undercurrent. Gets much smoother and fuller as it warms.
O - the sweetness that seems apparent in the aroma is restrained, and the finish brings a healthy dose of bitterness. A well balanced version of a Belgian IPA that is recommended.
