Poured into a pint glass.
A - light copper and somewhat see through. very mild looking for an 8.8. frothy one finger head.
S - getting some citrus going on , and im noticing a hint of a bubble gummy type of smell. I smelled more and put my finger on it; Mango. im getting a lot of mango coming through in the nose. ive never smelled a fruit that distinct in an IPA before. thats pretty cool.
T - starts as just a a bitter hop bomb... lemon, grapefruit, apricot, tangerine..while all this is happening you definitely feel the pine-like backbone....in a nutshell this brew is just a mess of fruit...etc. and finishes with a mellow slightly bitter mango/mango peel. this is pretty good. lingering bitterness.
M - Medium carbonation, not over the top...a little creamy.
Overall i thought this was a really cool beer to come from the sumpin series. loved the mango aroma too....that really got me. just a very big beer. a little bit of maltiness mellows the bang of hops you get through out...and keeps you coming back for more. yet another good beer put out by Lagunitas. Pretty similar to the "sumpin sumpin ale"... Anybody who appreciates a west coast style hoppy, bitter bomb of a beer. this DIPA is for you.
