Goldenrod with creamy lumpy white head that instantly leaves clumpy trailers.
Signature fresh pineapple along with fresh orange slices, some fresh hop cone resin and waxy spicy yeast underneath - enchanting.
Clovey spice cookie, some dough, peaches and orange jam, then a big phenol hit (and bananas?) followed by tangerine and Creamsicle hops with hints of pine. A bit of vanilla peaks in from somewhere.
Orange Swedish fish finish then more tingling clove and clean bitterness.
Medium, some chew, soft, slightly oily, no burn.
For the money, there's no brewer that delivers gorgeous hop freshness like Lagunitas. And that's why this doesn't totally work. While it make a top Belgian IPA, all that clove only serves to get in the way of the hops. Lots of fruit, creamy on the palate, more IBUs than it appears at first, and Belgian character you can't miss.
Flawed in the best possible way.
