Poured into a tulip. Crystal clear auburn color with a nice fizzy white heading. Carbonation free flows from the bottom of the tulip to the surface. Great lacing throughout.
Smell as soon as I popped the cap was very tart upfront. A bit fruity cherry, pineapple, and a good hop background to maintain it's sweetness.
Taste is very hoppy from the get go. I was very surprised by this. Slight tartness with to me seemed like any overhopped brew ( I know string me up now. ) Something about this just seemed too plain. Cherry tartness and bitter hops, nothing else. The belgian yeast strain does arrive on the backend but a little late to the game.
Mouth was crisp and clean. More like a light body with tremendous carbonation.
I gave the drinkability a 5 because this was the lightest tasting beer I have ever had with damn near 9% ABV.
