A: This one pours a nice, bright orange in my Duvel tulip. Ample carbonation pulses through. A lovely, rocky white head sits on top and lasts for quite a while. Nice lace follows along the sides. Overall, this one looks great.
S: The aromas are pretty nice, but not as vivid as I'd like. Lots of fruitiness. Some citrus (orange and tangerine) from the hops, some pear and peach from the yeast. Not a lot of spice though. I expected this to be spicy because of the Westmalle yeast. There is a slight grassiness at the end.
T: Tons of fruitiness here. Mostly tangerine at first with tones of peach in the background. I get some slight pear and apple notes from the yeast. The hops provide ample citrus flavors. The citrus is more "middle of the road" with heavy orange and tangerine. It has a slight grapefruit bite in the bitterness. The yeast seems to add to the fruitiness, but lacks in the phenols. I'm used to tons of spice with this strain. This beer is lacking in that department. Otherwise it is very tasty.
M: Light-medium bodied. Smooth at first but finishes crisp. I would have liked this slightly drier than it finished.
D: overall, a very flavorful and enjoyable beer. A refreshing take on an IPA. It would have been a homerun, but it lacked some spiciness that I would expect in a Belgian style ale. I think this would be epic with a little spiciness and maybe a hint of brett. I'll still drink it again.
