12oz bottle poured into a Tulip glass. Batch stamps on neck and bottom of bottle, but what they mean isn't obvious to me.
Appearance: Slightly hazy golden-orange beer with lots of persistent white lacing all over the glass. Foam on top is thickest at the edge, and a very very thin skin across the middle. Bubbles moving up very slowly through the glass. Nice looking beer.
Smell: Hoppy! Perfect blend of orange citrus and pine resin. Just a hint of grapefruit and mango in there as well. Nice.
Taste: As expected, hop forward, but balanced with malt. Quick orange then caramel malt followed by a complex hoppy finish of grapefruit, mango, and lingering pine. Not sure what makes this a Belgian Strong but it's quite tasty. Makes me think more of a DIPA really.
Mouthfeel: I knew this was going to be a thick one due to the slow bubbles, and indeed it is. Smooth but thick with some spicy carbonation on the tongue. Very nice.
Overall / Drinkability: As with many things from this brewery - good amounts of hops and malt. Very tasty and it did not disappoint. But....it doesn't make me think of a Belgian Strong Pale. The alcohol is perfectly hidden which can be a characteristic of this beer, but it's a DIPA in flavor. I'm not complaining exactly as it is quite tasty, but I'm not seeing the connection to the style at all. However, I'll give it this - just like Duvel which will sneak up on you, this one will too. High ABV so well hidden, yep, devilish is one way to describe this, but tasty enough that I want another one. So maybe it is this style after all, just hop forward in fine west-coast style. Quite drinkable despite the fact the even with the devil egging me on I should stop at one.

A nice dark honey color, slightly cloudy.
Smell: about average, I guess. Maybe a little tiny bit of banana ester?
Taste: round, complete, plenty of hops with a firm malt backbone. Delicious.
Mouthfeel is right with my favorites. The hops recycle nicely allowing me to draw out the pint and linger over the delicious flavors.
