poured from a bomber into my arrogant bastard pint glass, two fingers of creamy pure white head top the brew dissipating slowly and evenly leaving thick lacing on the glass. The body is a pale golden color, clear, and lively with carbonation bubbles rising through its middle.
The scent is refreshing, floral, and fruity from the hopping. This is the main event but it is backed quite nicely with a clover honey malt smell which is alluding to a strong malt characteristic in the flavor and mouthfeel.
The flavor is great, and suprising which I like. I picked up the yeasty taste first off, just a slight sour impartation onto this malty delicious brew. Hop-wise I picked up grapefruit which is something I don't get too often, a sweet and sour balance is at work here which keeps you guessing as to what the next sip will have your palate pick up on. The honey malt characteristic stays and I pick up a nice bready grain feeling as well.
The mouthfeel is just what I expected, thick and creamy like a malt-bomb of a brew should be. The bready part I get gives me a bit of a chewy feeling which I enjoy as well.
Drinkability...what can I say, 8.85% is what is says on the bottle and I taste about zero of it, the only reason you know it's high alc is the malty characteristics but otherwise this is as drinkable as your standard mellow session brew.
