Poured from the 12oz bottle into a nucleation pint glass.
A: This brew poured a beautiful golden color with a thick, thick off white head. The head slimmed down to a nice thin layer that left a good lacing on the glass.
S: Smells of a complex mixture of cloves and fruits. The sweetness of the malts and the spicy yeast combine and come through leaving a faint ghost of a Belgian ale.
T: Tastes much like the namesake that Lagunitas is so famous for. The yeasts impart a bit of clove to accompany a bitterness that can only be attributed to an IPA. The hops come across fruity, leaving a good dry pine flavor on the tongue.
M: Crisp while well coating. The brew covers all parts of the mouth with a long lasting aftertaste of pines and fruits.
O: This is a great spinoff of the already wonderful Pale Ale. Not sour like I had expected, but bitter with the flashy cloves and hops that a Belgian IPA should have. Certainly a hallmark for the style. 10/10 will drink again!
