22oz. bomber bottle with the typical recycled paper Lagunitas label. This label has a pin up girl leaning up against the Sumpin' word. Below the name is the Lagunitas dog. They make him look like he's talking. The beer's specifications is right in the middle. 72.5 IBU, O.G. 1.079, and 8.8% ABV. Off to right in very small print is a large nonsense paragraph. The only thing missing from the label is a bottled or best before date.

When poured into an Ommegang tulip, this "Wild" beer was a nice semi clear golden apricot orange with a few lemon yellow highlights. On top of this golden brew was a 3/4 of an inch pearl white head of foam. It was a pure white color. This good sized head of foam had great retention that left behind a long lasting white skim of foam and a large number of sticky streaks of lace.

Not exactly a wild aroma coming off this wild beer. The aroma was mostly all about the citrus fruits. This citrus fruit punch consisted of grapefruit, lemon, and a little tangerine. Mixed in with the citrus fruits was a little dried pine needles, lightly bitter citrus hops, and cloves.

I thought the taste was more wild than the taste. I think it was due to the beer's yeast undertone. Blended in with the yeast was grapefruit, lemon, orange, tangerine, toasted malt, cloves, pine, grass, pepper, and dried citrus hops. To be honest, I thought it was interesting. The yeast added a nice taste to every flavor.

This was a medium bodied beer with a good amount of carbonation and a yeast/citrus aftertaste. Like the initial taste, it was more about the yeast than citrus flavors. This yeasty aftertaste stuck around for quite a while.

Was this a wild beer? No, not really. Interesting? I'd say so. If you like yeasty citrus beers that are easily affordable, I'd say pick up this beer.
