Served on tap at Lagunitas on 6/12/2011. Going through older notes.

A: Golden, pretty bubbly, very low white head.

S: Mild; honey sweetness with mild flowery cascade hops.

T: A bit of honey, mixed with mild hop bitterness (flowers, citrus, earth); immediate light bitterness that very quickly fades away on the finish; fruity vinousness.

M: Medium body and carb.

O: Pretty interesting, in a hard-to-describe way; good stuff for a hoppy ale.

Clear dark golden colour with a small short lasted white head. Good head retention. Nice lacing.

Sweet, toasted malt with a slightly herbal edge. Interesting.

Crisp, soft malt with a herbal bitterness. No real hop flavour. Interesting.

Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Good.

A solid ale with a balance of malt and hops. God flavour with an interesting herbal kick.

Enjoyed in a shaker pint at MacKenzie's in downton Minneapolis.

Overripe tangerine in color, with very soft haze. One finger of egg shell froth becomes a very thick, retentive top layer. Sticky thicky walls of lace.

Fruity nose. Loads of apricot, nectarines, burnt sugar, biscuits and the juice of mandarin oranges.

More malt appears in the flavor, but I feel this is horribly mislabeled as a double IPA. There’s lots of biscuits, orange peel and grass. Zesty, but not too bitter, and fairly sweet throughout.

Assertive carbonation with soft fizz. Medium body with sugary viscosity. Nice and smooth.

As a double IPA, Fusion VI falls short, but it’s not bad when mentally categorized as a strong ale. A bit sugary; it could use more hop bite to balance.

On tap at the brewery, yellow hazy beer, standard fare for a belgian ipa, bonus .5 for being in a mason jar. Wheat, belgian yeast, mild hops by Lagunitas standards in the aroma.

More of the same in the taste, this truly is a fusion, but the term/cliche 'everything in the kitchen sink' could also apply. Plenty sweet, yeast ester abound. Mild bitterness downplayed by the belgian yeast. Easily drinkable.

Not going to satisfy any hopheads with this one labeling it a dipa. Clearly a belgianesque ipa.

Tasted on-tap at First St Alehouse in Livermore CA after a long field day in the Hamilton Range. Brew was tasty and nice for a warm day.

A - warm orangish tone with low clarity. Head was single finger - poured from a fresh keg. This I know b/c I told the alehouse what I recieved was not Lagunitas Pale Ale - they said, "oh, that's funny". They checked and it was Fusion instead. Pleasant surprise.

S - Nice balanced fruity notes with malted barley to boot. Warm, friendly, sweetish, if you will.

T - Clean brew with a balanced feel. Nice hop bill that wasn't overpowering but very interesting.

M - Ok here. Nothing special.

O - Good summer brew, but didn't come off as "memorable". Kind of a fat, slightly hoppy pale with interesting character. I could tell the ABV was higher, but no ethyl on the palette. Good stuff.

A: gold color. Clear. Effervescent carbonation.
S: fresh cascade hops, with some bready malt making it through.
T: Bready malt backbone.
M: m-mh body, higher than most of the style. Creamy mouthfeel, with some caramel sweetness lingering.
O: A very drinkable Ipa, though a bit too bready for my tastes.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ

A: The beer pours a clear, pale golden color with a fluffy white head.

S: Lots and lots of pale malts coming through on this one. A fair amount of sugar, too. Some floral hops and candied citrus peel, maybe some pine.

T: Very sweet on the palate, too. Sugar, caramel, and pale malts. Lots of fruit notes to it as well, particularly apples, pears, and sweet citrus. A light pine bitterness on the finish.

M: Medium in body with a medium to high level of carbonation.

O: Definitely on the sweet side, but still pretty good.

Sampled at Lagunitas 5/1/2011.

Not quite sure how to classify this. I think it's a blend of things but it's almost hoppy enough to an IPA. But then it also has some wheat and possibly some saison yeast.

Pours hazy yellow, low white head, no real retention but it does leave a bit of lacing in the standard Lagunitas mason jar.

Aroma is mildly of piney hops with some caramel, wheat, and booze. Hoppy biere de garde maybe?

Flavor is sweet and malty with a decent amount of bitterness topped off by some fruity and piney hops. Seems to be some wheat and Belgian yeast (or something similar) in there. The flavor is all over the place but most of the flavors are somewhat balanced. Interesting.

Body is medium leaning towards heavy with a good amount of CO2. Drinkable. What ever it is it isn't bad.

Ƭίcƙ.

For the record I did NOT call this a DIPA. I'm guessing someone mixed this up with Waldo's DIPA and submitted a change. It's got Belgian yeast, and at 7% abv how could this be a DIPA? Ugh.
