Fresh bomber into a duvel glass. Pours a clear orange amber with 2 inches of off white head that shrinks to coat the top with ok lacing. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, oranges, bread, and faint lemon. Flavor is tangerine, biscuit, caramel, leather, mild grapefruit, and some lemon. Thin mouthfeel and well hidden abv. Nice beer.

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a tulip.

A: Dark amber. Pours about a half finger, foamy, white head. Settles pretty quickly and evenly, leaving a blanket of foam and substantial beer ring. Light, sporadic lacing.

S: Caramel, honey, and maple syrup. Freshly baked and buttered bread.

T: Honey sweetened bread, and pecan shells.

M: Thick, hearty, and syrupy. Pungent throughout. Bitter, dry finish. Feels a little washed out in the end.

D: Bitter and pungent character will dictate a slower interlude.

Atmosphere is good. Nice hue, solid foamy head, and fair lacing. Nose is a full and strong combo of bread and sweets. Flavor is pungent and bready, with an indistinct and unexpected, but prevalent sweetness. Overall, this is a good quaff.

Crystal clear bronze color with a billowing fluffy off white head. Subtle nose of lightly kilned malt and a touched of buttered toast.Faint citric hops become present as the beer airs out.

Quite an interesting brew. Full mouthfeel. The beer seems to be struggling between being sweet and being bitter, a nice little fight goes on inside your mouth. Sweet buttered biscuit like flavors up front, whisks to grains and caramel along the mid palate with a touch of bright fruit. Finishes with a harsh english-style ale bitterness that sneaks up on you. Incredibly smooth for such the potency. Still undecided as to whether I love it or hate it.

I think overall I pretty much like it. The bitterness is harsh and grows and sneaks up on you, but the beers a sipper anyway. Not too deep or complex but definitely unlike anything I've ever had before.

16oz pour, on tap at Taco Mac (Alpharetta, GA). Served in a chilled pint glass.

Delivered clear deep gold with a quarter finger of cream froth on top. Nice consistent lacing.

Nice hoppy hoppy smells. Pine, orange, mango.

Sweet burst of pine and citrus followed by a nice malt backing. Orange, pine, pepper, sweet bicuit. Very little noticeable alcohol.

Medium full body with moderate carbonation. Slightly slick hop oils on the tongue give a long dry bitter aftertaste.

After a year away, I'm still a fan. A good solid dose of hop goodness with a nice full sweet malt bill to back it up. I'll continue coming back to this when it's available.

Poured a 22oz bottle into a chilled pint glass, nice golden auburn tan tint with a full white head, good retention, and leaves a little lacing to the glass on the way down!

Great hop aroma, Amarillo mostly from what I've heard, hits your nose immediately. High Gravity strong ale indeed, but well balanced, the malt backbone comes though right when you taste the hoppy goodness, medium/full bodied mouthfeel lingers on your palate until the next sip. Not a hop monster like other posters have said, but does balance with the big grain bill in this beer...

I have yet to find a beer from Lagunitas that hasn't been exceptional !! This doesn't disappoint, grab one of these when your looking for a big ale, and you will enjoy tasting brewing perfection..

I really enjoy Lagunitas, and this is one of my favorite. The beer is a nice straw color and has a decent white head. You can really smell the citrus hoppy goodness, and the taste is spot on. I am glad that the hops are overpowering, and the malt really can stand out. I will be buying up more of this seasonal where I can find it.

22oz bottle into Block 15 snifter.

A: Pours a crystal clear orange color with a couple fingers of off-white head that faded into thin scum leaving sticky streaks of lace down the glass.
S: Super hoppy notes of pine, citrus and sweet tropical fruit nectars that slightly fade after the pour. I get paler notes of light malts and clean yeast. This indeed smells like a super hopped up blonde.
T: Follows the nose with huge notes of citrus rind and fruit nectar hops. Malts are thick and slightly sweet and caramel, but for the most part flavors are light but potent. Again, this is a very hoppy and strong beer, but the strong flavors are light in flavor, if that makes sense. All that matters is it tastes good. Hops are resinous and bitter in the aftertaste.
M: Thick body, viscous mouthfeel that is smooth but heavy, and even and soft carbonation. Drinks well for such a potent beer.
O: A solid drinking beer. Hops are prominent but malt flavors are lighter than a traditional dipa. Recommended if you love hops, not recommended if you love blondes.
