Got this for my parents anniversary. As in, I got it so that I can have an excuse to be piss-drunk on such a special occasion. Poured into a Williamsburg Winery red wine glass.

A: Has a slightly reddish copper color reminiscent of an IIPA, along with a one-finger, near-white head. While it's not particularly sexy by itself, it has decent retention and it leave plenty of spotty lacing on the glass.

S: The nose on this is very tropical. Grapefruit, apricot, mango, whatever citrus fruit you can think of inhabits the nose quite beautifully. There's a little bit of maltiness as well.

T: To me, the taste is primarily IPA, albeit one that's malty, well-balanced, sweet, and pleasantly bitter on the back end. The sweetness of the amber malts open up the body nicely, while the lingering bitterness, though not on the same level of a typical Stone offering (not necessarily a bad thing), is quite pleasant overall. 8.9% ABV? Who the hell are you fooling, Lagunitas?

M: Smooth but slightly syrupy as one would expect from an IPA, and a finish that's a bit sticky and bitter, but as I said, not in the same way a Stone IPA is. Carbonation is moderate.

O: Let's be honest, this fits the winter months in the same way Tim Curry (present-era Tim Curry, by the way, not the sexy bombshell we remember from Rocky Horror Picture Show) fits into a speedo. And while it's more IPA than impy blonde to me, it's still an incredibly enjoyable, almost world-class brew that was a great value to boot ($5 for this?! HELL YES). Get it while you still can!

A - This beer pours a nice clear orangish amber color. It has a little more than 2-fingers of off-white head resting on top. The head has excellent retention, and it leaves behind a nice sheet of sticky lace on the glass.

S - The nose has a nice bit of bready malt and caramel in the forefront. There is a nice piney hop aroma as well. Also, I am getting some scents of fruit, honey, and some citrus.

T - The taste starts off with a sweet caramel maltiness. That is immediately followed by a nice piney hop flavor/bitterness. There are some nice flavors of honey, grapefruit, and just a touch of booze. The finish leaves some lingering sweetness and piney hop bitterness on the palate.

M - This has a medium body and good carbonation. It goes down easy and has a nice smooth feel to it. There is a good amount of sweetness and piney hop bitterness that balance each other out. There is just a touch of booze on the back end.

O - This has good drinkability. The flavor is nice and goes down easy. I would have no problem having a few glasses of this. Overall, I really enjoyed this beer. It is like a red ale and IPA all in one. Another solid beer from Lagunitas. Check it out.

Hazed peach colored body. Thin off white head leaves sporadic spots of lace.
Aroma is hoppy...birght, citric and minty. Flavor is mostly juicy tropical hop flavors. Body is actually fairly thin and there isn't much of a malt presence here. Alcohol is quite minimal as well for an 8.9% beer. This is a solid effort.

Poured into an snifter glass.

Appearance: Light amber color poured lightly giving a white 1/2" head.

Smell: Doesn't smell bad but not the strongest property of the beer. Smells like pine...no not the washing stuff more like a beautiful forest. I like it but I don't love it.

Taste: Pretty bitter more of an acquired taste. Hints of grapefruit skin, very strong hop.

Mouth: Medium carbonation, not too hard to swallow. Does bubble up as is it moves some people like this I personally don't mind just giving you the heads. up.

Overall: Not a bad beer at all. I would but it again...if you like bitterness and the scent of taste of pure "hopness" this is for you. Not your smoothest "blonde" ale...I would like to confirm with Lafunita's if this is an actual blonde ale or in reality maybe we are just drinking a "blonde" IPA, cheers to all.
