Sucks is served to me in a snifter sporting a tarnished copper body. Mild haziness cuts the clarity but the body still glows. Active carbonation climbs up the glass to the impressively dense clean white head. The head shows stellar staying power and leaves sheet lacing down the glass.
The nose is full of fruity hoppiness. First and foremost are bushels of grapefruit and orange. The orange has the sweetness and density of marmalade. There is an appreciated smattering of tropical fruitiness as well. The malt backbone is light but what's there leans toward soft caramel and lightly toasted white bread.
Fruit upon fruit in the flavor as well. The tropical fruit runs together to pick out specifics but it plays nicely with the citrus picked up in the nose. That marmalade is pretty killer. The citrus is bright, pithy and sweet all at once. The malt profile is soft with caramel and that toast I mentioned. A slight graininess picks up on the finish.
While this is a rather hefty IPA the alcohol is unnoticeable which makes for a dangerously drinkable beer. A moderate body meets with easy carbonation to keep this beer flowing. The bitterness is there but manageable and clocking in on the low side of moderate.
Sucks is one of, if not the best, beer I have had from an all around solid brewery. The canvas of toast and caramel really allows the citrus hoppiness to shine. I'll be picking this up in the future for sure.

Deep golden colored with vibrant carbonation and Brussels lacing. Quarter inch head of tightly knit white head. Excellent clarity. Nose is filled with pungent freshly picked grapefruit like hop aroma. I get just a whiff of that cereal grain mixture. The mouth seems weighted, dry, and sticky from the hops. I would describe the taste as a great blend of bitter citrus hops mixed with sweet and slightly nutty cereal grains. Like honey but Cheerios meets west coast IPA.
