It's getting warm here in San Diego, and after a weekend of drinking heavy things, I wanted to relax in the pleasant warmth with something that wouldn't put me to sleep. Alas, Lagunitas DayTime IPA!

APPEARANCE: Pale, straw color, with a two-finger head that dissipates into a medium-thin ring.

AROMA: Excellent aroma on this one - straw/earthy malts share the space with fragrant, light-citrus hops. It already smells refreshing!

TASTE: The hops are very floral, with traces of lime and grapefruit. They play very nicely with the malts, which bring hints of straw, earth, and a little touch of sweetness.

MOUTHFEEL: Crisp, dry mouthfeel, with minimal lingering bitterness at the back of my tongue.

OVERALL: I could drink this beer every day. Light, crisp, and refreshing. There's not a whole lot going on with this beer, but it's simplicity is perfect. For a session IPA, this is as good as I could have hoped for.

Love the fact that this IPA has a low ABV. That way I can take them outside and have a few and not worry about them sneaking up on me after two or three. In my opinion, its the ultimate beer to take outdoors for a cookout or picnic. Its light and crisp with bold notes of citrus and pine like any solid IPA should have. I almost get a little taste of lemon and lime in the mix as well. Its refreshing and light, but wonderfully balanced to give you that IPA experience!

A - Very light and straw colored with a nice and foamy head adding to refreshing look.
S - Hops that have a grapefruit and citrus along with sweetness.
T - Very much like the smell, its got all the feel of an ipa without the ABV.
M - Body on the medium side
O - This is one of the best of the session type IPAs that i have tried.
