12 oz bottle poured into my Lagunitas jar.
Appearance: POured a pale straw color. One finger white head. Moderate retention. Very little lacing.
Aroma: Wow. Big juicy citrus hop blast. Underlying pine notes. Some pale malt. Huge aroma for a beer that isn't trying to be huge at all. Very surprising and welcome.
Taste: Quick Citrus and pine hop blast before letting up ever so easily. Plenty of Grapefruit and orange zest. Tends to lean towards a Czech style Pilsener towards then end. Pale malt and hop profile. IPA Lite!
Mouthfeel: Obviously, it's a little thin and watery. Decent carbonation and a great crisp finish. Gotta give it some props though as this beer is doing exactly what it says. Light and easily drinkable.
Good job for Lagunitas on this one. It's pretty much IPA Lite and it's pretty good. Don't get me wrong, there's better IPA's out there. but probably none as sessionable as this. Would have loved to have gotten this early in summer. Would knock a few of these back no problem.

I think it's a stretch to call this an IPA, even a session one. From the nose and the taste, it's really (IMO) a hybrid of an American pale ale and a German pilsner. Nice light golden color, slightly hazy, with vibrant head. Lots of carbonation. Hop aroma runs the gamut from citrus to tropical to grassy. Definitely not complaints there. Mouthfeel is thin, which is exactly what you want in this type of beer. Taste is heavy on what tastes like pilsner malt, with light grassy/floral hoppiness.
All in all, a solid offering thats super refreshing and perfect for the summer. Certainly worth picking up a six pack, just not quite what I was expecting.
