Poured into a pint glass from a bottle. High foamy head over pale, clear golden ale. Head settled quickly (and nearly disappeared) and released citrus tinged nutty aroma with some noticeable new world hops undertone. Even flavor with fresh aftertaste. Taste is smooth with a nice balance of tangy and and a touch of sweet with a fresh citrusy, aftertaste. The mouth feel is light and slightly flat with hint of cream. Overall this is a well balanced IPA.

12 ounce bottle purchased individually from Whole Foods, chilled to about 50 degrees and served in a Spieglau stemmed Pilsner glass. My first experience with this beer, which I thought overly bitter. Did not enjoy this one at all and would not buy again.

L: Bright straw yellow

S: Citrus rind, light pine

T: Citrus up front, more pine, then a third hop element I can't quite put my finger on, but in a pleasent's dry and hoppy I can tell you that. Grassy aftertaste. Longer and more complex than the average session IPA.

F: Higher carbonation than I expected, though it's not spritzy. I think this helps with the lighter mouthfeel that kind of haunts all low abv IPAs.

O: Probably the most satisfying session I've had. I'm still not to sure if they're my thing, but if I had to pick a session this would be it.

Best session IPA I've tried. It will of course be a bit lacking in feel and flavor, but man, the aroma is great and the flavor is as good as can be for my palate at this low an abv. Will be my go to as long as it's available.

Very impressed with this low ABV "fractional IPA." Great nose and taste. Light but flavorful. Solid thumbs up on this one. Likey better in summertime.

A pretty, yellow pour leaves a bubbly head that dissipates more slowly than one might expect. The nose carries distinct, appetizing tropical, citrus, and grassy hop notes, as well as a hint of honeyed malts.

Taste is shockingly hop-laden; of all the session pales, this one may be the best. Typical Lagunitas hop profile: tropical fruit leads, with citrus in support and a hint of grassy, herbal notes on the finish. Mouthful is fairly light, but well carbonated and refreshing, which is what the style calls for. Calling this beer a "Fractional IPA" actually makes perfect sense, for it has all the hops one expects from an IPA on the lighter body of a session pale. Excellent

Pours a mostly clear light gold, fluffy white head, rings of lace halfway down the glass. Smell: lemon-lime, grassy and dried mango notes, little crackery malt blip. Taste: lime, grassy, crackery malt back, melon and sweetened grapefruit notes. Light-plus bodied. Really well done for a session strength IPA... call it a pale ale and throw a little more body at it and it's world class.

12oz. Bottle

Pours a pretty nice, slightly cloudy dark golden yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice one-finger creamy white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, very slight malt note. The taste is pretty hoppy for a brew this low in ABV for the style. Medium body, with a nice slightly dry/bitter finish. Overall, one of the best Session IPAs out there, that I like and would probably buy again.

Definitely an ok sessional IPA, but a little lacking on taste. Just a tad bland for my liking. Would be fine for a casual beer on a porch, but not unless you were planning on having several

Lagunitas DayTime.

Lagunitas has only ever let me down once in terms of an IPA, And since this thing is dry-hopped I expect it to be pretty grand. Night Time was a good black ale.

Look - Pours a slightly murky yellow with a finger of ever so slightly off white head that quickly turns into a cloud formation among the right side of the glass. Carbonation appears to be between light and medium. Mid way through the drink all remnants of the head have completely dispersed meaning no lacing will be left anywhere. 3.

Smell - The nose is all one big dank hop that basically smells like sniffing a bud through a plastic wrap up bag. Malts are kept very light. 4.

Taste - The dry hoppiness is very apparent and dominates the majority of the flavor. Pine resin can be detected as it warms. Lemon zest in the finish. The flavor is not complex, but this is not meant to be. Finishes very crisp and clean. No sign of the IBU's. 4.25.

Feel - The body is fuller and more well rounded than expected. Carbonation comes through in medium waves and gently sting at the tongue. Mouth is coated in juicyness and there is a bit of a creamy aspect despite the lacking head. 3.75.

Overall - This was a very clean and easy drinking IPA that has a sessionability that is second to none. While it isn't complex, at $1.39 for the single bottle I definitely think I got my monies worth. I could drink this all day without a complaint. 4.

Poured out into a Bruery tulip glass

A: Very light yellow in color, almost looks as pale as an American Adjunct Lager. Single finger of head, plenty of bubbles coming up, head dissipated about halfway into the glass.
S: Oranges, floral spices, grapefruit, crackery malts faintly in the background, lemongrass, lemon-lime
T: Follows the nose a bit, more emphasis on the lemon-lime, lemongrass qualities, finishes with a small pop of bitterness. Lemon in the aftertaste.
M: Bite upfront, medium carbonation hits your tongue fairly hard, very thin mouthfeel, finishes up dry as a bone.
O: Good session IPA, it seems like this would pair best with hot weather and activities. Sitting and drinking its a little too thin for my liking. It's not bursting with hops quite as much as sessions like Go-To, which is my session of choice.

Pours a light amber/yellow. Citrus, grapefruit, orange, peachy, piney in the nose (citra and galaxy dry-hopping would be my guess). Taste much the same, but with a little more prominent dankness, maybe some onion/garlicy/herbal notes (columbus/simcoe-like qualities). It is thin, which is probably what they're going for. I love lighter IPAs, but (as I tend to feel for mosts IPAs/APAs) could use a tad more hop burst.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into my Surly glass. Bottled on April 10th. Picked up at my local ABC Fine Wine & Spirits as a mix-a-six.

Body is crystal clear light yellow with a bright white head; left zero amount of lacing in the glass

A light amount hop aroma and not much else; perhaps due to the age?

Taste is about the same as the aroma, not much. I don't expect much from sessions ales anyway.

Feel is very thin, finishes dry and is definitely a beer brewed to drink a lot of and not get too drunk. Not a lot going on.

Overall, this is an OK beer, just not impressed with sessions ales most times. I will look for this again and if its fresher I'll pic up another bottle to see if it's better.

pours a clear golden color. not very distinguishable in appearance from a lot of light beers. '

nice citrus aroma is very enticing.

tastes of orange, pineapple, and maybe a bit of citrus rind and pith.

its quite light on the tongue, and a little on thin side. but that's to be expected for a session IPA. I could easily drink it all day in the sun...which I have.

Kept this one in a bottle as I was at a restaurant.
Floral on the nose
Floral hop flavor with a light malt base. Very subtle bitterness
Higher end carbonation, light, crisp and dry
Nice and light...daytime for sure.

Pours a thin looking pale yellow, with a thin white head. Not much to the smell. A very simple light citrus hop that finishes nicely. Perfect balance. Could drink a bunch on a hot day. Lagunitas rocks!

Lagunita's might be the most reliable great brewery. Or maybe I'm just biased towards Citra hops but either way this beer is certainly worth a try. It's a clear light beer that reeks of beautiful hops and the head has strong lacing post pour, roughly a quarter inch. It goes down smooth and leaves a hint of pale malts to balance out the Citra. It also gave me a little dryness which makes you want to drink another one. Definitely in my top ten.

A very solid session IPA from Lagunitas. A little light for my liking but goes down nice and smooth. Very easy to drink. Great summer beer. The nose is a citrus bomb which I love. The taste follows suit. Lagunitas continues to impress.

Poured into a pub glass. It was the color of an American adjunct lager (pale piss yellow) which was surprising, as it was supposed to be a session IPA.
Not much to smell. Taste was mellow, with some hopiness upfront followed by a stinging dry carbonation and a little bitterness in the rear. Kind of tastes like if you mixed 3/4 Asahi Dry with 1/4 Stone IPA. Not bad for what it is -- a dry hopped ale. However, not really a session IPA, more of a DryPA, if that's a thing...
May come back to this, as it is definitely a summer brew, but I'm not going out of my way to get more.

12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams glass. Clear, pale yellow in color with. 2 finger head of super sticky white foam. Sweet tropical fruit and dank pine on the nose - much like most of their other ales, only slightly muted. Light weight and nice and creamy. Sweet, juicy tropical fruit up front on the taste with a moderate hop bitterness. Slight onion flavor as it warms. Dankness and pine on the back end and aftertaste.

This is a beast of a beer in terms of flavor for being only 4.65%. Obviously doesn't pack as much of a punch as Little Sumpin' or IPA, but still damn good. Perfect for a hot summer day.

12 oz bottle, tulip glass

A – Deep straw to very light gold, with high clarity. Mildly effervescent. A half inch of white head with moderate-low retention.

S – Prominent grapefruit, with light mango and lemon-lime hop aromas. Light crackery malt, with some flour and/or uncooked sourbread dough.

T – Lemon-lime is more prominent on the palate with some grapefruit and moderate-low hop bitterness, then a quick sharp hop bite on the finish. Malt flavor is low, uncooked bread dough.

M – Medium-full body with fairly high, sudsy carbonation. No real sweetness, and moderate hop bitterness that seems a bit higher due to the lightness in other areas (sweetness, malt flavor.) Somewhat dry throughout.

O – An easily drinkable session IPA, but not as much aroma or flavor as other options I’ve seen within the style.

Pours a clear pale yellow with a fairly dense white head.
Aroma is flowery with a hint of cracker and light spice and a tiny bit of citrus. A bit lager-like.
The taste features lots of piney bitterness right up front, a little juicy fruit in the middle and a drying and bitter finish. Some floral notes as it warms a bit.
Mouthfeel is on the thin side and it's a bit sticky.
Overall, a decent session IPA.

Certainly comes across as a light IPA. Not bad, but nothing great here. Easy, easy to drink. Smells grapefruity and hoppy, but the taste disappointed me. Not enough bold flavors or any semblance of maltiness to give it substance. Still, this is going to be my go to "I want to drink something flavorful without getting shit-faced" beer this summer.

This is ok for a session IPA. Some nice hops up front but not very memorable. I think if I was looking for a session beer I would pick something else.
