12 oz bottle served chilled into a shaker pint glass.

Daytime is a very pale straw yellow color with a slight hazy. The head is fizzy and short lived.

Aroma is wonderfully hoppy and fresh. Similar character to other Lagunitas beers with nice citrusy hops.

Flavor is also Lagunitas light with the malts there mostly for balance and the great west coast hops are able to shine through.

Mouthfeel is light in body and nicely carbonated.

Overall a very good beer and certainly one of the best hoppy beers out there under 5% ABV.

Appearance: Golden cloudy opaque color, light blonde head.
Aroma: Hoppy, very light citrus aroma.
Flavor: Medium light bodied, with a hopped, and light citrus flavor. The beer is also light in carbonation.
Overall: This is a good session type beer. Its has a decent hop aroma and taste. This brew is devout of the hop bitters of traditional IPAs. Its medium light body, and lower AVB lends itself to a good summer beer with flavor.

The gold standard for session IPAs. Rich hoppy nose - I actually preferred the nose to Lagunitas Sucks’, tasted on the same evening - with a balanced hop flavor. Best of all is the ABV - enjoy a 6-pack while watching the game and you’ll have a way better time than your Bud Light buddies (though they might feel better the next morning).

Poured out of a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. "Session IPAs" are not a particular favorite of mine, but I'm always a fan of Lagunitas' offerings.

Pours a golden pale color, perhaps even more pale than their pilsner that they release year round. With a slightly aggressive pour, this yields a good amount of fluffy white foam about 2-3 fingers high in the glass. Good carbonation, and decent lacing for a low ABV beer. There's simplicity yet some class and elegance to it.

Smells fantastic - by far the best I've experienced with these session IPAs. Orange peel, pine, grapefruit, pineapple, and lemons - this is definitely dry hopped to all hell to make up for the low gravity product, yet it's not astringent at all at the nose. A slight biscuit flavor permeates, maybe that of toasted crackers, but it's all about the hop oily aroma here, with a slight sweetness at the finish. Lagunitas never lets me down with their hoppy offerings, and this looks to be a flavorful one.

Woah, that's some dry stuff - totally caught me by surprise, but the flavor from the aroma is still retained rather well. Notes of dried lemon rinds, grapefruit, and pine coat the palate, followed by a cracker flavor and slightly sweetened texture that is overtaken by the acidity and bitterness from the hops. It reminds of a dry white wine in some ways, while still lacking the fruitiness and minerality I tend to enjoy in that category. It's surprisingly grainy at the finish, which seems to double the astringency, and strangely, it finishes very wet and slightly thin (even for the style), which makes it a little less on the refreshing side on its own and little bit better when paired with fatty food (I had this with pizza). Good, but not my favorite from this brewery.

As far as session IPAs go, this could definitely grow on me in the long run. Pairs really well with food, but it's definitely a bit intense texture-wise for what it aims to be. The lack of any sweetness from the alcohol makes it a little unbalanced, but as far as dry low gravity beers go, this is interesting one in the same manner as, say, De La Senne's Taras Boulba, as well as other similar offerings that have started to pop up around here. Tired of some of Lagunitas' hoppy high gravity choices? Try this one!
