Drank this at a Chicago Fire game, was pleased to see a craft beer in those ranks or Millerdom, a resonating ad quote on the touchline "Choose Taste:Miller Lite"...this is what they actually believe.

A: Thick offwhite sticky head of foam with plenty of lacing. Redish amber in color.

S: Hop aroma is citrusy but mild. Not overly attractive.

T: Sweet malt backs up the hoppiness, however its not as bitter as I'd hoped.

M: The pockets get a little action, the prominent feeling is in the throat. The carbonation (possibly from the draft) plays for a short while on the tongue.

D: Well I had two, but possibly cause the choices were bad. I like tasting IPA's to which i can compare with those that i reach for regularly.

Poures a deep copper with a fluffy head that leaves a light amount of lace, heavy pine aroma with a grapefruit note.Pney, resiny flavors going big on the hops thats for sure not much malt base but some nice flavors. There are better west coast IPA's out there this one seems way out of balance but still decent but wont look for again anytime soon.

Appearance: Light golden orange, with a faint chill haze. Not much of a head, and what there is doesn't stick around long. Prominent lacework as the beer is consumed, however.

Smell: Smells fairly malty. Definite hop presence, of course. These hops are pine-y rather than citrus-y. Faint whiff of...brown sugar, unusual for an IPA.

Taste: Assertively hopped. The first sensation of flavor on the tongue is the floral, piney hop character. The malt peeks out very briefly from behind the hops mid-palate but then sneaks off again to let the hop character reassert itself in the finish. I've had hoppier beers, but rarely have I had a beer where the flavor profile was so thoroughly dominated by hop character from beginning to end, to the exclusion of all other flavors. Whether that's bad or good is up to your personal preferences.

Mouthfeel: Standard for an IPA. Festively carbonated.

Drinkability: Very drinkable. Nothing here to stop you from chugging a bottle or knocking back several in an evening.

Overall: I've had better, I've had worse, its okay.

Pours clear amber, with a white head that leaves some lace on the sides.

Aroma has that Lagunitas feel to it; a little catty and floral with some soft malts around.

The taste has a bright hoppiness to it, again, slightly catty and floral, but it does lack a certain authenticity as far as the hops go. Very wet and quenching, drinking a few shouldn't be a problem.

Lagunitas is predictable in the sense that if you predict it will be good, you'll probably be right. I will take the Pale over the IPA though.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours an amber-orange color, mostly clear depending on how carefully you pour as there is some minor sediment at the bottom of the bottles. Light head of less than a fingers width, white and sudsy, which dissipates quickly to a light ring. Light but decent lacing remains down the glass.

Right off, you can smell two different hop characteristics. That citric grapefruit smell hit me first but right behind it was the more earthy grassy sort of hops. The hops take the spotlight but if you take a deep breath you can actually pull in some subtle caramel nuance from the malts.

As you might guess from the smell, there are two distinct waves of hop action going on when you pull this brew across the tongue. A cool malt and grassy hop concoction is first and brightest, staying together and solid as you swill. As the beer goes down the hatch, the grapefruit really starts to come out, and remains largely into a brief linger. The finish is quicker than I might have expected, and was relatively clean - rather refreshing really - with a light and brief finish of citrus hops. Very enjoyable.

The overall mouthfeel of this is interesting. It has the sort of weight to it that you would expect in something heavier, allowing for a nice full body. The balance of hops to malt though really sort of makes this feel more light and refreshing. It's an cool mix. The carbonation is relatively light, but still seems to match things pretty well and makes for an overall easy drinking beer.

I don't know why I waited so long to try this brew. If you like IPA's, this one is worth trying. I'm definitely going to be utilizing this for my rotating fridge stock for IPA's. Nice brew.

A - Poured a golden color with a one finger head and medium carbonation. Head faded quickly.

S - A decent malt smell, didn't smell any hop aroma. Was a little surprised by this, would have liked a citrus or spice.

T - Nice malt flavor with some good hop bitterness. Not a lot of hop flavor though. Not bad, but expected more. Then got hit with a slight aftertaste, not terrible, but not good.

M - Good, doesn't feel over attenuated.

D - Has good drinkability, rarely do I consider a great IPA sessionable, but this is...then again, it is not great.

This beer left me disappointed. I expected some hop aroma and got none, and more hop flavor than was present. They say they used 43 varieties of hops and 65 malts. Perhaps they should stick to fewer varieties of hops and malts and let each one "speak" a little louder. Not a bad beer, but nothing really stands out, seems a bit muddled. Don't feel like I need to have it again.

This was a very well crafted brew. It poured a medium orange color with a great white head that left lace to the last drop. There was a grapefruit or orange zest scent that was very nice, along with a bit of hops. The taste was wonderful and a nice change of pace from many of the really dry hopped IPA's out there. This one still had the hop kick but with a great malt profile to balance things. This is s session IPA for sure and I will be buying this one again.

Pours from the bomber a deep amber orange. A bit darker than the Maximus but nearly exactly the same hue. The small off white head fall quickly to leave just a trace. Nice lacing adorns the sides of the glass. Nose of solid bitter citric tones off the top with underlying sweet bready caramel and pine bough resins. Nice.

First sip brings a bitter citric hoppiness upfront along with a caramel drizzled bready maltiness. Quite bitter on the way down with a somewhat chalky aftertaste. A pretty nice IPA with big Pac NW hop flavors. Only real downfall is the bready, dry aftertaste that's a bit off putting to me.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy. Rolls over the tongue with ease. This is an IPA I could drink with ease that features a nice bitter kick throughout. Glad to see this at my local and have the chance to sample it with my buddy.

Lighter color than expected, pushes towards a golden yellow color. slight bit of chill haze clouds the body a bit. Small white head on the pour that reduced to a skim that hung around til the bottom. Sporadic lacing.

Weaker aroma. Sweet caramel, candy type malt aromas. Floral sweet hops with some light citrus. Smells good, but just a little simple and a bit weak.

Good flavor profile, a good bit of pine hops with some grassy, straw flavors, a bit of earthy malts. Nicely bittered beer. Lingers for a while after swallowing. Simple but tasty flavor profile.

Medium body, coats the mouth well and the flavor seems to linger for a bit. Has a bit of crispness but still seems filling. Good beer overall, something I could drink several of and would come back to as well.
