I noticed this one getting lonely at the Mt.Vernon Shop & Stop specialty shelf and pulled for it out of dual curiosity and sympathy.
A: Poured into Skibbo's pint glass to display hazy golden orange, partially suspended inner particles slowly rising to the two finger plus khaki creamy head. Mucho chunks of lace afix themselves in to the glass.
S: The nose was properly citrus to start then pushed aside by piney hops and other aromatic hops.
T: After a long series of IPA's that were low on the hop profile, I finally got a strong bitter delivery with a grapefruit backbite along with citrus peels. You will not be overwhelmed with the BU level due to the minor pale malt presence for balance but don't expect a sweet rescue to your tongue.
M: Mouthfeel was medium working towards full and a smooth and tart swirl.
D: This is what I call a real West Coast IPA. One for the hopheads but taken slowly all can enjoy.
