12oz. bottle poured into tumbler.
A: Pours a slightly hazy copper-like gold with a monstrous Dover White frothy head that takes nearly 5 minutes to settle sound to a 1" cap. Gorgeous off-white splotchy lacing left behind. Head retention is astounding. This thing isn't going anywhere. Perfect IPA aesthetics.
S: This definitely doesn't cross onto DIPA grounds, but the nose is huge an ruthlessly hoppy. Lots of grapefruit aroma with hints of orange peel and maybe some lemon. Grass and pine underneath adding some rustic qualities. The malt is completely shrouded. Balance, shmalance. Who needs anything besides hops?
T: The bitterness is out-of-this world and the hops mercilessly assault your palate and stop just shy of becoming pungent. Malt presence is weak and get easily bullied by the hop bitterness. The after-taste is slightly malty and on the bready side which serves as a bit of a relief from the pungent flavors—not that I'd complain, but some balance is nice.
M: Medium bodied, which is to be expected given the weak malt presence. Crisp carbonation and smooth texture. Finishes refreshing, leaves me aching for another sip. Good drinkability.
O: Lagunitas boasts an IPA that's quite a treat. An absolute hop wallop that's perfect for any hophead. Understated malts add a semblance of balance in the end, but for the most part this is pure, unadulterated hoppy goodness that's easy-drinking and refreshing. Top notch.

I’ve had this many times before, but, having just joined the site, I decided to write a review this time. The beer is dated 6/3/14 (about two months old). It pours a straw yellow that borders on copper under certain lighting. The aroma is pleasant with a subtle citrus characteristic, but predominantly earthy resinous hops. The taste has more citrus than the nose would suggest and is full of orange and lemon zest. The beer finishes with a sturdy, resinous hop bitterness that lingers on the tongue for awhile. It is medium bodied with a modest amount of carbonation, which suits the style well. Overall, a solid beer. At a reasonable price, it is a nice go-to beer.
