Growler fill at Frugal Mc D's. Poured into NB globe glass.
A: Pours clear, gold with an amber tint. Thick head. Great retention, taking forever to recede. Lots of sticky bubbles left over as it dissipates.
S: Smells clean, grassy, piney hops. Scents of grapefruit and other citrus.
T: This one's all hops. Up front tastes of earthy pine, grains and grass. You're left with a strong lingering bitterness. Nice hop flavoring here. Tastes fresh. Some malt balance but mostly a hop bomb here.
M: Mouthfeel is on the thicker side yet somewhat slick. Definitely a lingering mouth feeling to match the bitterness that clings after swallowing. Medium amount of carbonation. Feels good all around. What you would expect and hope for from an IPA.
O: My first Lagunitas experience here. They recently made it to Nashville and I look forward to trying other styles. A great IPA all around here. Well balanced with fantastic hop flavors. This one ranks up there with the top IPA's in my book.

Bought this 22oz bomber (no freshness dating) from Total Wine for a little over $5. That's a pretty good price for such a quality ale. Poured into a wide-mouth Ball jar.
A: Beautiful copper coloring with excellent, billowy head.
S: I get a lot of malt--ala a DIPA. Smells really fresh.
T: Not your typical IPA; malt up front, with nice, hoppy background. I wonder if it would be reversed if fresh. This is a really mellow IPA. That's dangerous...you could drink a lot!
Drinkability: I was hoping this would be my new, "go-to-IPA", but unfortunately I couldn't get that wallop of grapefruit and other citrus notes I crave. No worries, it's still a GREAT example of the style. I will drink this again. THANKS LAGUNITAS!

Pours a clear gold with a big, foamy, white head that dropped to a cover...semi sticky lace
Smells of pale malts with with hints of dry pine and red grapefruit..For some reason I'm also getting notes of gear oil!
Tastes of pale malts with a hint of used grain. Piney, citrusy hop flavors. Not all that bitter. Also getting gear oil on the finish. Oddest taste I've EVER experienced in a beer!
Mouthfeel: Just barely medium-bodied, slight carbonation.
I've had much more appealing IPA's but this is still just ok if not great in my opinion.

Great hoppy IPA, the pint was that was clear gold....tasted similar to DFH 60 min. Not exactly like it tho. Had total of three pints and couldn't find a problem with any of them. Also the head lasted most of the way down.. Went great with the fish and chips. A Solid I.P.A. one of my favorites.
