First a bit of discloseure, I am a big fan of Lagunitas beers, and a lover of IPA's in general.
Lagunitas IPA to me is the quintessential west coast IPA. Coppery in color, moderate head that dissapates after a few drinks but that leaves considerable lacing.
I like the citrusy and slightly astringent flavor, must be mostly casecade hops. Balanced well with the toasty malt that gives a good sweetness. Could be a little more complex and perhaps a bit more of a toasted biscut flavor. A good standard, high quality IPA that comes in around $7.50 a sixer.
Strong enough to have a little buzz going after about two bottles.
