Picked up a single bottle as a part of a build-your-own-sixer at my local Stein's Liquor. No bottled on date. Poured right from the fridge into my tulip glass.

L: Pours a warm amber with about two inches of eggshell head that sticks around for a good while, settles into a nice film, and leaves profuse lacing on the glass. Crystal-clear, with lazy, intermittent visible carbonation.

S: Citrus hops provide the prominent notes in the bouquet--orange and grapefruit. There's also some apricot and pineapple on top of the bready malts. A touch of grassiness and cracked pepper in the mix, as well.

T: Some bready and sweet caramel malts at the forefront. The citrus hops come into play quickly, providing some nice orange and grapefruit notes. Pineapple, mango, and apricot are also there, really filling out a nice, juicy fruit-forward hop profile. The middle has a bit of earthiness and cracked pepper spiciness on top of everything else. The back end has more of the citrus hop flavor on top of the sweeter malts, with just a bit of lingering bitterness in the aftertaste.

F: On the lighter side of medium-bodied, this one begins smooth and creamy. The back end has some tart and bitterness, but it finishes quite cleanly. Very little stick. This one has a nice level of carbonation.

O: This--along with Two Hearted and Torpedo--is really one of those benchmark IPAs for me: it really does everything right, from the nose to the body. I like this one, especially, for it's fruit-forward hop profile. A great go-to, every day kind of IPA.

Very solid, well-balanced IPA. I actually prefer this to some of the other well-known IPAs out there.

Look: Bright, nearly clear golden amber. One finger of head dissipates fairly quickly but leaves some nice lacing.

Smell: Citrusy and subtle tropical fruit hops up front. Some resiny pine.

Taste: Pine for days. Little bit of citrus. Hardly any bitter finish. Not much to this beer.

Feel: Kinda thin and easy. Finishes pretty dry.

Overall: Not a bad IPA. Certainly not my favorite. Not very much to it but it is a decent everyday 6 pack option. Won't blow any doors off but won't offend anyone either.

Typical pinesol IPA. Glad the British got their beer to India unspoiled back in the day because of the hop turpentine, but this whole style is unsophisticated. Hop-obsessed US will eventually move on to more sophisticated styles, but for now this is a serviceable brew.

Smooth copper with a lot of carbonation. Smell is floral and hoppy. Taste is smooth with little bitterness at the end. Very good beer.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. About two months old.

LOOK: Slightly hazy rusty gold with a finger of off white head that leaves some lacing.

SMELL: The aroma is starting to fade, but I can detect grapefruit, oranges, caramel malt sweetness, faint peach, pine needles, flowers, tea, and grass.

TASTE: Grapefruit juice, orange peel, peach flesh, and white grape balanced against biscuit and caramel, and finishes fairly clean with a light bitterness of orange pith, pine needles, and flowers. Would taste better fresher, but still good.

FEEL: Body is medium-light with medium carbonation.

OVERALL: A good commonly available IPA. Would happily drink this at any bar or with a good meal.

L – Gentle pour yields a 2-3 finger head that quickly dissipates to ½ finger. Golden to straw color. Excellent clarity.
S – Hops are prominent – piney, somewhat resiny, citrus apparent as well but not as prominent. Malt does not seem to be anywhere to be found.
T – Bitter right up front, yields to a resiny, piney hop flavor with bitter grapefruit/citrus much more apparent than in aroma. Bitterness returns on sides of tongue and lingers long after each sip. Malt fighting a losing battle on this one. Very dry.
M – Carbonation medium to medium high. Body seems ever-so-slightly thin.
O – I swear I’ve had this before and didn’t find it this bitter – would actually like a little bit more malt in this one to help balance out the bitterness just slightly and also round out the mouthfeel. Hop flavor is spot on for an IPA though. Would probably be an excellent beer to pair with some sort of fatty food – pork belly, baby back ribs, or something Mexican/Southwestern – spicy and smothered in cheese.

L: amber in a goblet glass
S: pine and citrus
T: pine and citrus, not near as hoppy as I expexted
F: smooth, almost like a light IPA with slight bitterness
O: would be a good IPA introduction for a novice. Not as hoppy as I like but still very drinkable.

My go to in SF. Any and every bar has it, and you only need a few before you feel it. A great beer that feels just as local as it is. I will always have a soft spot for my laganitas.

Pretty golden color. Pretty off-white head, good persistence, fine foam.

Smells clean. Initial hints of apricot, like Bells Two Hearted Ale. I was excited.

But on the palette, alas, it was not to be.

Hoppy, clean, piney, short finish.

Light mouthfeel, not especially rich, even for a single IPA.

Piney finish, long, some bitterness.

Not bad at all, but there are so many better choices.

A: Upfront hop aromas of danky pine and resin with some citrus qualities

A: light orange color with excellent clarity with moderate amount of head retention

T: Piney and resinous hops give way to some malt sweetness

M: med-bodied, med carbonation

O: A bit of an old school IPA. While not as IBU heavy as Maximus, IPA’s these days go for more tropical fruit and melon characteristics. However, if fresh – Lagunitas IPA is dangerously approachable.

I generally dislike IPAs, but I really like this beer. It's not too hoppy, and has a lighter flavor, not too floral. If you're expecting an IPA taste you might be disappointed.

Thick, dense, foamy head sitting atop a gold-colored body; tightly packed carbonation bubbles slowly rising. Citrus rind aroma; pine and orange marmalade. Mild malt notes with a very good presence of orange flavor. Medium body; somewhat coarse on the palate with the carbonation; wet, initially, with a semi-dry finish.

This beer rates a solid "yeah, boy". It doesn't set any new standards and won't stand-out as anything exceptional, but there is no denying it's pleasing taste and easy drinkability. Solid and very pleasing in an understated yet very satisfying manner...

Hard to find a bad beer from these guys. Deep golden pour with sticky white top. Aroma is pine and malt. Flavor is more of the same, with a bit of a bite at the finish that just brings you back for more. Malty, piney goodness, smooth stuff.

A -
Visually, a clear amber beer with a half inch white head and moderate lacing.
S -
Aroma of hops and caramelized malts. Hint of floral. Slight fruity smell like apricot and citrus. Hint of pine.
T -
Beer had a good balance between the sweetness from the caramelized malts and the bitterness from the hops. Also can taste the apricot and citrus.
M -
Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Very clean finish.
O -
Very nice American Pale Ale.

Your typical IPA. Caramel balances out its hoppiness. It's OK. That's all.
