Pours a clear gold color with bubbles racing up it and a frothy 1 finger off white head that was packed with bubbles and faded slowly, leaving great foamy lacing coating the sides of the glass as well as rings as it went down.
Smells of citrus hops, grapefruit, orange peel, floral hops, sweet malt, piney hops, herbs, light spices, cracker, grains and yeast or biscuit; the sweetness smells like citrus and is quite soft an enjoyable. The malts and grains sit in the back seat, but the hops are not that in your face so there is decent balance in the aroma; nice example of this style.
Tastes of citrus hops, grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, light pineapple, floral hops, flowers or herbs, sweet malt, piney hops, brown sugar, toasted grains, wet bread, biscuit, light spices like coriander and pepper, and then it trails off with a slight bitterness that leaves a dry feeling. The hops are not over the top, and the malt adds balance, so this is a nice light and crisp IPA.
Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, with high fizzy carbonation, a light body and a tart dry finish that is bitter, but enjoyable enough to make this a sessionable beer.
Overall it is very good, tasty and refreshing, but not a hop bomb; very good and well above average IPA that I could drink anytime and have enjoyed for years.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass
Pours a nice clear amber with two fingers of fluffy foam. As the beer recedes, it leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is quite hoppy, nice grapefruit flavors dominate.
First sip is quite hoppy, finishing rather dry. A very nice example of an overhopped west coast IPA. Malty sweetness is overshadowed by a citrus hop flavor and sharp bitterness. No semblance of balance here, but it like it.
Another good offering from Lagunitas. This is what I expect when I see IPA on the label.

Part of a tasting flight at Meddlesome Moth in Dallas, Texas. Review may be skewed, as it was the last in a flight that included big flavors like Stone Oaked Bastard. That said, I didn't feel like the flavors were overpowered, although they were definitely less aggressive than some of the beers before it.
Having qualified my opinion -- the Lagunitas was a really pleasant surprise. Not nearly the hop bitterness I had expected, the hop character came through mostly as sweet and citrusy; I had trouble deciding between grapefruit or pineapple flavors, and settled somewhere in between. Very nice balance to the beer, and I found it an exceptionally refreshing brew.

This is a suprise. Last time I had this beer it was pretty muddled and boring for an ipa. But being on the east coast I knew it could be better. This time the beer is full and floral.
Pours a really pretty orange with a very small head. The aroma is really nice with a lot of herbal and earthy notes of thyme onion and a big burst of orange peel and lemon, I would like a touch more aroma. The flavor mimics the nose but has a great candied orange sweetness that really fills the palate, mouthfeel is full and silky.
I am thoroughly enjoying this beer right now

This beer pours a yellowy gold color with a decent amount of foamy white head that leaves a small amount of lacing behind, pretty clear, not murky at all.
Smell wise I can pick up on some subtle citric sweetness and hops, its pretty mild smelling and the hops aren't very sweet smelling.
Flavor wise its pretty much the same, its on the bitter side though. There is a slight hoppy bite at the end, not very citrusy, kind of mild.
Its got a little bit too much carbonation and its got a really dry finish, almost too dry.
