From the bottle into a Same Adams Perfect Pint glass

Appearance (4/5): Golden yellow with high clarity. Lots of active carbonation bubbles and a clean white head that lasts, settling into 1 finger on the beer and leaving a lovely lacing.

Aroma (4/5): Hop aromas with hints of tart fruitiness over-ride lighter grassy and piney scents.

Taste (4/5): A smooth bitterness of light hop flavours, with a subdued malty sweetness in the back. Balanced hop bitterness lingers on the pallet after the sip.

Mouthfeel (4/5): Medium body with a courseness that runs over the pallet. A light numbness lingers on the tounge after the sip.

Overall (4.5/5): A beer with a great bitterness that is assertive but not overpowering. The malt still get a bit of stage time, behind the nice hop performance. Overall very balanced, and a very drinkable IPA.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a clear copper, with 2 fingers of foamy bright-white head. This maintains a frothy ½ finger, leaving back a big sticky latticework of lace that coats the sides of the glass. The aroma smells floral, herbal, and piney, with sweet tropical fruit and grains coming in off the sides to balance the bitter grapefruit character that is present as well. The hops have some nice power here in the nose.

The taste is more bitter grapefruit and sticky resins, which are tempered by notes of juicy tropical fruit and the lightly toasted grainy sugars of the malt. The finish is strong with the hops, with a dry lingering mix of pine and bitter fruit. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a creamy crispness that rolls along nicely in the mouth. The herbal and oily tones from the hops really smooth this out well.

There’s nothing to complain about with this. Full of hop flavor and well balanced, with a slick easy drinking body; you can’t go wrong with a sixer of this minor class from Lagunitas.

Been drinking this for years out of the bottle, finally my regular watering hole started carrying it on draft. Time for a review.

Pours a classic bronze with a sizeable head. Smells nice & hoppy, a bit lemony & grassy too.

Hops hit the tongue & make their presence known quickly. Lemony, herbal taste dances on the tongue, only to be washed away by a strong slightly sweet malt presence. Delicious to drink on its own or paired with all sorts of food.

A quintessential west coast IPA that I drink often. Well made, & consistent if it's fresh. Reasonably priced too.

On tap poured into a pint glass.

Pours a light & clear amber with a small white head & lots of lacing. Nose is hoppy and fruity, tropical fruit as well.

Taste is bitter right off - crisp, sharp resinous and a bit dry. Mouthfeel is very good, nice carbonation and light enough to drink a lot. Very classic west coast ipa.

Served on tap in a pint glass at a neighborhood joint.

A-Copper/orange color, translucent. One finger head with good lacing.

S-Pine,citrus,flowery. The aroma just fills the glass as I drink it.

T-A flavor 'tree'. Pine and citrus. Good.

M-Medium body that could use a little more carbonation. Smooth, though.

O-A winner, looks and tasted like an IPA should, sharp and hoppy.

Poured from bottle into pint glass.

A: Light, clear copper with a one finger head. Resolves into a thin but ample lacing. Quite a lot of bubbles.

S: Ketones throughout, with a nice biscuity malt backbone. Quite a bit of citrus; I'm assuming some considerable aroma hopping with Cascade or something similar.

T: Pretty lackluster here. Alcohol is prevalent throughout, and there is a nice biscuit malt backbone, similar to the smell. While there is a strong bitterness, hop flavors aren't quite as abundant as I would have hoped. There's a bit of citrus and a bit of pine; perhaps a bit of orange if you search for it. Finishes clean.

M: Carbonation leaves a sharp feeling, but it worked ok for me. Alcohol presence is nice and doesn't linger too much.

O: A decent IPA, but nothing to write home about. I'd much rather drink a Stone or a multitude of other West Coast IPAs.
