L – Gentle pour yields a 2-3 finger head that quickly dissipates to ½ finger. Golden to straw color. Excellent clarity.
S – Hops are prominent – piney, somewhat resiny, citrus apparent as well but not as prominent. Malt does not seem to be anywhere to be found.
T – Bitter right up front, yields to a resiny, piney hop flavor with bitter grapefruit/citrus much more apparent than in aroma. Bitterness returns on sides of tongue and lingers long after each sip. Malt fighting a losing battle on this one. Very dry.
M – Carbonation medium to medium high. Body seems ever-so-slightly thin.
O – I swear I’ve had this before and didn’t find it this bitter – would actually like a little bit more malt in this one to help balance out the bitterness just slightly and also round out the mouthfeel. Hop flavor is spot on for an IPA though. Would probably be an excellent beer to pair with some sort of fatty food – pork belly, baby back ribs, or something Mexican/Southwestern – spicy and smothered in cheese.

L: amber in a goblet glass
S: pine and citrus
T: pine and citrus, not near as hoppy as I expexted
F: smooth, almost like a light IPA with slight bitterness
O: would be a good IPA introduction for a novice. Not as hoppy as I like but still very drinkable.

My go to in SF. Any and every bar has it, and you only need a few before you feel it. A great beer that feels just as local as it is. I will always have a soft spot for my laganitas.

Pretty golden color. Pretty off-white head, good persistence, fine foam.

Smells clean. Initial hints of apricot, like Bells Two Hearted Ale. I was excited.

But on the palette, alas, it was not to be.

Hoppy, clean, piney, short finish.

Light mouthfeel, not especially rich, even for a single IPA.

Piney finish, long, some bitterness.

Not bad at all, but there are so many better choices.

A: Upfront hop aromas of danky pine and resin with some citrus qualities

A: light orange color with excellent clarity with moderate amount of head retention

T: Piney and resinous hops give way to some malt sweetness

M: med-bodied, med carbonation

O: A bit of an old school IPA. While not as IBU heavy as Maximus, IPA’s these days go for more tropical fruit and melon characteristics. However, if fresh – Lagunitas IPA is dangerously approachable.

I generally dislike IPAs, but I really like this beer. It's not too hoppy, and has a lighter flavor, not too floral. If you're expecting an IPA taste you might be disappointed.

Thick, dense, foamy head sitting atop a gold-colored body; tightly packed carbonation bubbles slowly rising. Citrus rind aroma; pine and orange marmalade. Mild malt notes with a very good presence of orange flavor. Medium body; somewhat coarse on the palate with the carbonation; wet, initially, with a semi-dry finish.

This beer rates a solid "yeah, boy". It doesn't set any new standards and won't stand-out as anything exceptional, but there is no denying it's pleasing taste and easy drinkability. Solid and very pleasing in an understated yet very satisfying manner...

Hard to find a bad beer from these guys. Deep golden pour with sticky white top. Aroma is pine and malt. Flavor is more of the same, with a bit of a bite at the finish that just brings you back for more. Malty, piney goodness, smooth stuff.

A -
Visually, a clear amber beer with a half inch white head and moderate lacing.
S -
Aroma of hops and caramelized malts. Hint of floral. Slight fruity smell like apricot and citrus. Hint of pine.
T -
Beer had a good balance between the sweetness from the caramelized malts and the bitterness from the hops. Also can taste the apricot and citrus.
M -
Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Very clean finish.
O -
Very nice American Pale Ale.

Poured in an 8oz. stylish flute {Stone 16th Anniversary gift glass}. The deep copper, torched rusted iron colour fills the glass forming into a 1" finger thick foam.

The smell is excellent and offers complexity and depth. This is no wimpy IPA [or as my cousin pronounces it "eye- puh"]

The taste is super clean and refreshing washing and swirling down the throat at about 51 degrees.

The feel is a solid medium and it is displayed in the body and weight on my palate.

Overall, this is a great go-to high quality IPA. This is the quintessential right touch on every point Ale that punches out great character and consistency. I love that this IPA is grounded in the kind of quality that never falters and can be counted on for the afternoon bbq, the lip quencher with your honey in a hot shower, or the chaser buddy with a top-shelf silver blue agave! Perfect with spicy food indeed!

A: Light orange to pale yellow color, 1/2 inch white head, great lacing

S: Dank pine hops in the smell, not much else

T: Dank pine hops up front, sweet malts come in next to give some balance, needs more of a malty backbone to make it better

M: Medium, carbonated just right

O: A good IPA. Nothing that lights the world on fire but definetly a worthwhile offer.

Light orange color. Sour citrus nose with a hint of pineapple. Taste is slightly front-loaded with alcohol, which quickly settles into an herbal-fruity hop and malt profile. Feels a little clingy; not as crisp as some other IPAs. Overall, a good, solid representative of the class.

On bottle at the new JB's bar in St Helier, Jersey. Pours a golden colour with a white head. Aromas of tropical fruit & hops. Tastes of citrus, pine, tropical fruits & hops with a good sized not over powering bitterness.

Bought a six-pack at Table and Vine in West Springfield, MA. Served in a goblet. The drink had a large, frothy head with a slightly amber-copper appearance. Aromas had a sharp whiff of pine mixed with lemon citrus. The overall taste of the drink was a hoppy, but nothing too bitter. In fact, with the somewhat medium carbonation, the drink was smooth and refreshing. Overall, a good IPA.

One of the better IPAs out there. For its price point, hard to argue against ever getting it. Slightly bitter, more so than Sumpin Sumpin, but its pleasant. Its bronze and a little darker than some other IPAs, but its full bodied which I can appreciate.

One of my favorite IPAs around. I call it "engagement beer" after I got engaged a friends mother of my fiancé had us over for drinks and it was the first time I had it. Glad it all happened. This is the beer that started my love for IPAs

Well, very surprised and pleased with this IPA. Didn't expect it to be soo smooth. Delightful, yet unexpected. Have only tried their Imperial Stout. Decided to venture more into the unknown... pours very light off golden color with a more than typical white head. Nice lacing to boot. Smells of citrus, alil pine in there too and some fruits. Very smooth didnt not expect, was expecting more hops but it likey very much. After taste not bitter ar all. Defintley will pursue in the future. Cheers

Very good. Feels heavy, and is not suitable for "light enjoyment" (probably inevitable because of alcohol percentage), but still very soft feel overall and is delightful to drink. The taste of fruit present at the aftertaste... is just excellent. The taste kind of attacked me very aggressively and I was shocked. Very well recommended.

Solid session IPA for me anyway, very smooth and balanced. Goes down dangerously well. Nothing that blows you away in the hop sense but it's there.. Good for summer grillin..megh

The best IPA I've had so far (then again I've only had 3 kinds). Smells of lots of citrusy grapefruit, lemon and maybe even a bit of tangerine, but also subtle pine and malt along with it. Pretty smooth with the citrus and pine coming throughon the taste with a nice lingering bitterness. Can't wait to drink it again.

Awesome body for a comparatively low-to-moderate ABV for an IPA. Lacing is equally nice, and finish is a mellow bitterness. The issue here is with the taste, which just isn't very notable.

Appearance - 4/5
A very bright and clear orange, with two fingers of off-white head. A good amount of carbonation can be seen rising up the beer.

Smell - 4/5
Strong pine aromas, slightly resinous.

Taste - 3.75/5
Very hoppy, but not very bitter. I would describe this as a "mellowed-out" hops flavor. Lots of hops flavor, but not as aggressive and biting. Very piney and resinous hops, with some additional herbaceous flavor (reminds me of a forest of pine trees).

Mouthfeel - 3.75/5
Medium bodied, medium-light amount of medium-light intensity carbonation. Slightly crisp, and smooth going down.

Overall - 3.75/5
This was a good IPA. I'm not a huge IPA guy but I enjoyed this beer.

Very clear, tea color. Head runs away pretty quickly. The smell is a nice touch of citrus bitter and warm floral. The taste is about the same. Very enjoyable. It leaves a very dry and bitter remnant on the sides of the tongue. I'd get it again.

We had this in a growler (it was a gift) and were surprised how much we liked it (not being IPA fans). From Stanleys from Ed for baby sitting. Later (Dec 2015)raised rating from 4 to 4.25 -- this has become JK's go-to IPA. It is a plus that it is also avail at a reasonable price.
