I had this beer on-tap in a perfect pint at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.
Appearance: medium brown hue with no haze and a moderate effervescence. Head is a finger of creamy light-tan foam with a nice lace. Good stuff!
Smell: a light toasty malt aroma with a big hop character. Hoppy for the style, but balanced. I quite like it.
Taste: a little toasty malt with a big citrusy and slightly raspy hop flavor. Like most Lagunitas beers, this just suits my palate well.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a surprisingly good carbonation and creaminess. Great!
Overall: maybe not for everyone, but this is a hoppy brown ale that works. Most other breweries might market this sucker as their flagship IPA. Great.
Serving type: on-tap
