Fantastic beers and burgers. Cheese plate good too. Fabulous service, beautiful outdoor seating, and a bluegrass band...what's not to like?

My wife and I made a special trip out to Petaluma to visit the Lagunitas beer garden after a full day of hiking at the Point Reyes Seashore and had an absolutely lovely time. They offer tours (which we weren't able to take but I've heard are great), but the reason to visit is their beer garden. It's set up family style with a number of picnic tables so you just grab a seat and head up to the bar to order a pint... and you can also order food to your table. The food menu is a bit limited but tasty, and the beer garden is phenomenal. Great selection, with a number of 'brewery only' beers on tap (the bourbon aged imperial cappuccino stout was to die for). I wish we lived next door!

Beer hall type setup with large picnic benches under a giant clear tent. Inside is pretty tight and crowded by the bar. Very communal type of deal.

The beer quality is already known and pretty much speaks for itself (or mumbles). The food is similarly great in quality.

Service is so so, but that's because its pretty much always super crowded and therefore hard to get service. They're very polite and helpful when you can find them.

Selection is fantastic, they have 10-20 lagunitas beers on tap including a handful that you can't get anywhere else, or ones that are extremely rare outside the brewery. When I was there they were just starting to do some of their barrel releases before they ever hit taps or bottles elsewhere. You might get the chance to try something you won't see in stores for awhile, or at all.

Food was great. Very tasty. Very filling. My only problem was my eyes were bigger than my stomach.

Stopped into the brewery one afternoon while on vacation in Northern California, circa 2011. Unfortunately, we did not do our research and the brewpub was closed on the day we stopped in (I believe it was a Tuesday). However, they had a tour starting in half an hour. "Would you like to join the tour" they said. "Of course" we said. Smart choice. The tour consisted of some very generous (free) pours of just about everything they had on tap that day, along with our guide (bartender) describing the history of the brewery and some of its more well-known brews. Great vibe, and what seemed at first like it might be a bust of a trip turned out to be a great time. I can't describe the food since, well, the were not serving any. Since they were closed. I mentioned that earlier.

Love stopping here! The brewery tour is possibly the best I've been on. The guides are hilarious, super chill, and make you feel like family. You get the full entertaining history story and a ton of laughs to go with it, plus a nice sampler. The tap room and beer sanctuary (greatest name ever) always has something new and cool to try in addition to all the standards and seasonals. Friendly staff, great food, and live music round it out. Well worth stopping.

Ive never visited them in person. They make non IPA lovers like myself enjoy "nighttime" , "lagunitas sucks", "censored", enjoy al sorts or new and odd strains at always reasonable prices. Thank you. Your imperial stout is great asd well. I blame all typos on your "hairy eye ball" I just drank . Yum.

Awesome brewery full of cool people. Did the tour and got to sample all the different beers, and then as we walked through the bottling section our tour guide improvised and just started grabbing bombers right off the assembly line and handing them to us! Highly recommended if your ever in the San Francisco Area

This is my favorite tour in the Bay Are. Make sure you go during the weekday, because that tour includes tastings. Basically, they take you up to their tasting room and tell you great stories while giving you about as much beer as you should drink (large tasters of many of their beers). At the end of the tour, they let you grab a bottle of beer from their bottling line, like Laverne and Shirley (I heard they stopped doing this though).

Its always a great atmosphere and usually there is a live band. The prices are always very reasonable and the beers are great.

Truly great place to hang out.

I love their beer, but HATE the open seating policy. The place is so popular that no matter when you go it's very difficult to get a table because you can't make reservations. I really wish this wasn't the case, because I would be there very regularly. Instead I usually avoid the headache and buy the beer in the store, unless I am meeting a group because they take reservations for groups.

My wife and I went here on an anniversary road trip. shes a good beer wife. Although the tour was quick and the tap room closed we decided to try the tour. The tour was not so impressive but what was impressive was the beer as usual but more the story behind Lagunitas that I never knew. The tour guide was great, the old tap room even cooler but the stories where the best. Under Cover Shut Down, High "Astronaut man"!!! A Little Sumpin Sumpin!!! The Waldos!!! Censored AKA: The Kronik!!! Never have I been on a tour that provided some much down to earth, anecdotal, realistic, informative information about the brewery, owner and conception. We spent most of our time in the tap room asking our guide questions which she eagerly answered and provided history. I now have some truths and some myths to share with my friends and now I feel like a part of the tribe. Ill keep making up my own stories about some...

I discovered this limited release offering from Lagunitas in Huntsville, AL of all places at a convenience store/gas station; not the most auspicious location to fine a nice brew. Nonetheless, there it was... and on sale. It comes in the 1 pint 6 fluid oz size bottle. Lagunitas being Lagunitas, I thought it prudent to give it a try. What a find! This is a dark ale that seems to be crossed with an authoritative IPA. The O.G is 1.075, it has an IBU of 65 and hefts an 8.2% by volume of punch. This brew forms a substantial head when poured that subsides within a minute or so. There are the dark, chocolaty flavors of the stout mingled nicely with the bitter pleasing bite of hops. That's a nice combination. Make no mistake, I am not a beer snob who finds 'notes of leather, jasmine and peach' in beers that I enjoy. I know what I like and I like this very much. If you are fortunate enough to find this offering in your location do yourself a favor and give it a try. In the words of Eric Burdon and the Animals, "It will be worth it"!

If the "session IPA" is to replace the classic American pale ale in the future- Lagunitas is ahead of the curve with this dog of a low-bodied hop-bomb!

Its innocent enough austere is light gold, nearly emulating pilsner with a caramelized gaze. But with the taste looming, the nose is taken back by the IPA-like scent that squarely focuses on white grapefruit rind, under-ripened orange and a strong grassy and leafy quality. Its grain and caramel sweetness is supportive of the hop onslaught at first but that is all short lived.

The malt sweetness drops out of the middle palate, and leaves creamy malt textures to fend for their own- quickly dominated by the citrus, leaf and herbaceous hop flavor. Strong carbonation brings the vegetative flavors to life and gives the palate a good scrubbing heading into finish.

Closing with strong bitterness that stands tall in the absence of malt- dragging with it the character of citrus pith, grass, stem and leaf. Its chlorophyll bite hangs in the back of the throat and is slow to relinquish its grip. The rest of the flavors are fast-fleeting and leaves the palate clean, crisp and refreshed.

I have never tried a brew from Lagunitas that I did not like or was disappointed with, in fact most of them greatly exceed my (already high) expectations. They consistently produce amazingly high quality beers at affordable prices. I'm proud to say Lagunitas is currently my favorite brewery.
