Thanks to ipa247 for this extra!

Poured into my stone old guardian glass.

Pours 1/4 finger of off-white head. Color is a bright golden yellow.

Aroma: Lemons, spice, wheat, and some farmhouse funk flavors.

Taste: Lemon, citrus, grassy hops, some yeast, with fruit and a similar farmhouse funk to it.

Mouthfeel: Lightly tart, sweet, and crisp. Refreshing with a medium body and a medium amount of carbonation. Ends a bit dry.

Overall, this is a great easy drinking saison. I like that the mouthfeel has a touch of tartness to it. Thanks Jeff for this great brew!

Pours a slightly hazy golden and light amber appearance, 1/2" white head. Aroma had a mix of mustiness and hay, trapped within a barnyard, solid stuff.

Taste was a no frills saison that was dry, light, packed more mustiness together. A little bit of lemon and grapefruit citrus edge to it but not of the hoppy dimension. The yeast was almost like a secondary hefeweizen contribution with slight banana notes in addition to the primary and dominating traditional saison yeast. Nothing in the way of clove thankfully. Came in an oversized 22oz bottle, would have been better relegated to a more conventional (smaller) size. Who wants 22oz of saison to themselves? Not most people. The beer definitely has had its fans and detractors, I think my experience fits squarely in the middle of all that.

Interesting stuff from a bygone era. Wouldn't mind catching a few more ounces if someone breaks it out again, I first received as an extra back in the day.

Picked one of these up after reading Odonata is calling it quits.

Pours a murky light yellow-orange with a 1 inch off-white head. The head is very bubbly and boils down to a small cap. There is a single ring of lace that formed on the glass on the drink down. Smells of tart apples, yeast, spices, and wheat. Actually smells very much like a hefeweizen. Taste is exactly like the smell with wheat, spices, and yeast flavors of a hefeweizen and some citrus notes on the finish. I am also picking up a slight peppery aftertaste on the palate after each sip. A very nice level of carbonation making for a very crisp and clean mouthfeel. Very soda like but it works with the taste. Overall, this is a good saison that reminds me very much of a hefeweizen with a little extra.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass

A- pours a perfectly transparent shade of gold with a one finger pure white head. Beer looks pretty amazing, that's for sure

S- yum lemongrass. Smells of Belgian yeast too.

T- it's lemony, it's got that Belgian twang to it, it's got some sweetness...really complex and very good

M- it's got some thickness to it, actually. Has more of a body than I'd expect from something so light tasting and smelling

O- this is some pretty good stuff, it's a shame the brewery wrapped production. I'd like some more.

Hazy gold appearance, bubbly white head. Musty yet crisp aroma, good job.

Taste, nice and dry, wouldn't describe this as funky, tart nor sour, was more of a refreshing yet dry hefeweizen almost. Slight citrus taste to it, lemon. Tiny bit of banana to it. Good yeast flavor that doesn't impart a ton of that shit clove taste. Bitterness is just right.

Thanks to whomever sent this as an extra, a better than average saison in my book. At the same time, don't really see myself killing a 22oz of this to myself ever either.

Another long time want taken care of by Chris. Thanks, bud!

Mildly hazy, this beer is orange-yellow with a dense, white head that recedes to a disk leaving little lacing. The nose is excellent. Perfectly balanced with a light peachy, fruity character, a little floral honey, a little spiciness with white pepper and just enough hops, herbal and mineraly to tie it all together. Dry and rustic, this has a nice bready yeastiness. Solid stuff

The palate opens crisp and fruity with a blend of peach and grapes working very well with a dry, pislner malt and wheat base. A little bread, a little honey are present as malt characteristics, but the mid-palate is where the yeast shines - the classic saison funk with a blend of white pepper and a little clove, as well as an earthy hop flavor. Drying and mildly spicy on the finish, this beer is light in body and highly carbonated. Excellent balance and array of flavors here, I'd make this a staple if I could.
