Who would thought this dingy gritty liquor store off the beaten path of Ontario Ave. in Corona would carry so much quality craft beers.

This is second time I've been here. Stopped here at almost 10 pm and all sorts of oddball characters came and exited. And guess what, you can still find Stone Vertical 08, Stone 12th and 13th Anniversary, and Ballast Point Imperial Stout here, while they are all long gone in other stores. Also found RR Blind Pig and PtE here, which is rare considered most stores are sold out. Granted the Blind Pig I bought was bottled in 3/1/10, but it still tastes great and fresh. Other notables are Kern River Outstanding IPA, Mikkeller, Port, some random Belgians I don't see elsewhere... all the big So Cal regulars.

Just for entertainment they also has those Cold Spring beers in those huge-ass cans, all kinds of malt liquors, PBR in 32 oz bottles.

Service is impeccable as the cashier took extra time to search beers in the back cooler which is not on shelves. Very friendly and although the fellow is clearly not a beer geek but extremely amiable.

Overall a great experience, and I recommend you to shop here late at night to avoid the chaotic traffics and Inland Empire's scorching heat in the morning.

It's a liquor store first. Beer mecca second. Some great beers but limited to 20 percent of store. Lots of bruery beers. Too busy for staff to help you and no comments from the checker. Good beer but not great vibe.

Went here on Monday (Jan 19th) because i have wanted to come here for at least 3 years now but never drive that way on the 15. Any way I was very impressed by the selection. Cantillon, Evil Twin, Russian River, and a lot of limited releases. They don't get a lot of the hard to find over seas beers that La Bodega seems to get a hold of but they do have a lot of beers that they don't get.

My gripe with this place was that it was pretty unorganized. Beers were just on the shelf not stacked nice or anything but in with other beers of the same company just thrown on there mixed up. Also they seem to have just gotten a shipment that day and there were boxes everywhere blocking a lot of beers I wanted to look at. Also theirs this section behind the counter in the corner that is just full of crap and boxes and there is cabinets of what seems to be the guys personal collection because I saw a bunch of reserve society beers.

The staff seemed to be your typical non specialty liquor store staff. Didn't talk to any one who really seemed to know or be passionate about beer or even spirits/wine for that matter. This place is great don't get me wrong just not exceptional as a few other places that I have been that really seem to be passionate about their beer/organized.

I visited El Cerrito in November 2014 after the Pugachev's Cobra release. I kept hearing great things about it, so I decided to check it out. Frankly, I was a bit disappointed. Now don't get me wrong; they do have a decent craft beer selection, but it's not all that. Their beer selection doesn't even begin to compare with what you'll find at La Bodega, Mr. K's, Hacienda, or Plaza Market. That's what surprises me about their BA Score of: "100 world-class". I can't believe how many "5" ratings they have on here. Really? So there are that many BA's that feel this store is perfect, with absolutely no room to improve? I've got nothing against this establishment, I just can't understand why this place gets so much love.

Been here a few times, not the cleanest place, and I did not get the service I have heard others speak about, but they have a very good selection of beer, liquor, and wine. Often times there are unopened boxes of beer in the beer aisle, bottles are dusty, glassware is dusty. Besides the selection nothing really stands out here, prices are average some of the rarer beers are little higher and most of the beer is refrigerated. It's worth a visit the selection does not disappoint as they have one of the best in the Inland Empire.

This is a place I always stop at on my way down to San Diego. I never miss it. And I always stop on the way back a few days later just to make sure nothing new hit the shelves. Jazz has a good stock of a lot of good stuff. Overall this is just an amazing craft beer store.

Stopped in here on the way into town, I had heard amazing things so I was really looking forward to checking it out. Not the most beautiful looking place from the outside but really nice once you get inside. Tons of wine and liquor in the first few isles, beer in the last one. Atmosphere was laid back with lots of people coming and going. Service was solid all around. I was asked if I needed any help and he was nice enough to point out a few things I may have overlooked. Quality and selection were both quite high. I didn't see any out of date beers and they even offer some proper glassware for some of their beers. Selection was really solid. They had everything from the everyday beers of the west coast to some really rare beers I have never seen on a shelf anywhere else but here. Prices were a touch high on the rarer bottles but all of the others were reasonable so I can't knock it too much. Overall probably the best bottle shop I have come across on this trip. I just wish it was a little closer to where we are staying, I would love to go back.

Best bottle shop in the Inland Empire and possibly Southern California (I haven't found a better one). Great selection, fairly priced, and Jazz is very knowledgeable and always helpful. Posts new beers on Instagram and FB to notify customers. All IPAs are refrigerated and cellar-able beer is on the shelves. They also have a great selection of bourbon and other spirits.

A hidden gem for sure.If I didn't do some research before visiting the area I probably would of never stopped by.At first you get the impression it's just an old liquor store where you can grab a bag of chips and your run of the mill brew.Once you go in deeper you start to see the goodies on the last isle. From 'evil twin' to 'the bruery' to 'lost abbey' etc etc etc....If you stop by you deffinetly want to speak with Jazz.He will take care of you and your needs.

I've known about and driven past El Cerrito Liquors for years, not stopping in nor giving it a second thought. Given what I know now, I can't imagine all the good beers I've missed out on not stopping in and having a look around.

For a small shop, they have a good selection of just about anything and any type you can think of. Their cold box is full of goodies that need to be cold and the shelves across from that are full of what can wait for a fridge until it gets home. The aisles are a little narrow and when there's a shipment in, it can get a little crowded, but overall you won't be sorry you stopped in. Best of all, their prices are reasonable and competitive with even the biggest liquor vendors (TW & BevMo, etc.).

Got a question while you're there? Ask the staff, especially Jazz, who is their beer guru. They can set you straight and put you on something to satisfy your cravings. All their staff are helpful and friendly.

The only downside I can see about this place is that too many people know about it (LOL). There are times that they get some real desirable beers in and it's the quick and the hungry if you want a piece of that.

In any event, don't be worried about the area, just go in and check it out. Your beer cellar will love you, your wallet will not.

I've lived near El Cerrito Liquor for as long as it has been open, but I've never checked out their beer section. Yesterday I finally checked it out upon the suggestion of a friend. I wish I had come here sooner! Their selection is wonderful, everything is reasonably priced, and their stemware selection is pretty fantastic as well. I picked up a couple of Lost Abbey tulips, a Great Divide and some other fine brews. This place is a godsend. The only downside is that I was in there for only ten minutes or so, but there were a handful of corona bros and bums who wandered in to pick up cheap fifths of tequila and bud lite lol. Atmosphere isn't too important, but there are limits. At the end of the day, though, I've found my new beer shop.

Stopped in here during a recent trip to SoCal and was not disappointed. It's tough to add anything that everyone else hasn't already said. The place doesn't look like anything special from the outside, but the selection is tremendous and prices are great. Jazz was great to talk to and even hooked me up with some Parabola from the back. I would be happy if there were a bottle shop even half as good as this near me.

Have to agree with most other reviews in that this is the most unassuming place you would ever hope to visit. I lived in Corona for a year before I actually stopped there. The beer selection is great , but the reason I keep going back there is Jazz. The other staff there is friendly, but not nearly as versed as Jazz. I'm lucky to live so close to such a gem.

The first time going to this shop you may start thinking, "Where am I going?", or saying aloud as you stand outside that this place couldn't possible have the greatest beer selection around. Well, you'll be wrong.

El Cerrito Liquor has a wide variety of craft beer and spirits. I can classify the prices as both reasonable and often times lower than the competition. On top of that, the owner, Jazz knows way more about craft beer and spirits than you and will continue to make your jaw hit the floor when he brings up the last beer he has had or the last trade he made or when talking about what beers are in his cellar. The man is a true legend in the craft beer community, and rightfully so. He's humble, willing and able to answer any questions you may have, when many other shop owners are either only humble or unable to answer questions.

On a personal level, he has helped me grow as a craft beer drinker and pushed me to expand my palate. He continues to be on the cutting edge of craft by bringing new beers from small breweries as well as rare beers from established breweries.

Whether you are from the area or not, I definitely recommend stopping by the shop to meet Jazz, having a chat with him and buying some awesome beers. You won't be disappointed!

I was recently in Los Angeles and decided to visit the top rated liquor stores there to see if I could find anything I couldn't get in Northern California. El Cerrito Liquor & Market didn't disappoint.

What made this place stand out for me was the number of top rated beers they had available for sale. I hit the jackpot here. I picked up:

The Bruery White Chocolate & Malange No 3
Mikkeller Nelson Sauvin Brut
Logsdon Peche 'n Brett
Evil Twin Aun Mas A Jesus (my new all time favorite stout)

When the owner realized I was really into craft beer, he showed me the collection he kept behind the counter. While this was his "personal" collection that "wasn't for sale", it was one of the most amazing selections of great beer in one place that I've ever seen. He even was kind enough to sell me a "Mother of all Storms" berleywine! How can I rate this place anything less than 5?

I highly recommended this store as the best place to buy beer in the Los Angeles area.

I pass by the exit for El Cerrito literally every day during the week. I typically buy bottles in Riverside by my work, but on a whim I stopped by based on what everyone has said on here.

No I know why everyone always says such good things about the place. Jazz was the man, and cruised over and gave me hints and tips and his opinion on close to 20 difference beers while I checked out the selection for 30 minutes. I picked a good time, because they were getting a nice sized shipment of many different options (hint hint: Elder if you want it). I walked away with 3 bottles, but only because I had to limit myself. I could've walked away with 2 dozen if I had enough cash on me.... I am partially glad I didn't!

The selection was awesome, the pricing was fair, and the assistance was just about second to none! I loved the good selection of Fantome and Cantillon! which is close to unheard of in Southern California. He stocks lots of nice mid west, and east coast beers. I could have stayed and kicked it for an hour or more just talking about what he is getting in soon, or what he prefers to drink.

I am a sour/saison/wild ale guy myself, and there is a great selection there which I love. I also like that the entire beer selection is as far from the front door as possible, no light and no temperature fluctuations. needless to say I think this might just be my go to spot from now on. I can't believe it took me this damn long to check them out! it makes the commute home from work a lot easier!

I was in the LA area a couple of weeks ago, and when I was looking for a place to pick up a beer found the El Cerrito Market was only about ten minutes away. After visiting, I would drive an hour or more if I was anywhere in the area. When you pull up you'll think, "This is it?", but wait until you walk back to the beer aisle. They have an awesome selection, with a huge rack of Belgian's. They keep the IPA's cold as they should be. Jazz was really helpful with some local suggestions, such as Sculpin and Knee Deep IPA's. This is a place that you can't miss. Huge selection, and Jazz is the best.

Visited here a few weeks ago.

Great friendly service, Jazz is really helpful and knowledgable about his beers.

The selection here is really top-notch, lots of difficult to find stuff within a pretty broad selection overall. Lots of limited releases from the Bruery and Lost Abbey as well as stuff from Midnight Sun, the selection of Belgian beers is also awesome, including Cantillon, De Cam, Fantome and Tilquin.

Prices are very reasonable, I saw some "rare" stuff on the shelf and it was priced pretty much exactly where it should have been.

This is a definite stop for beer in the LA area.

I've been here a handful of times since it is about an hour of my house. A first glance, people would just drive by because it doesn't look like much at all. You really have to go inside to see for yourself. The selection of beer that I have picked up from this place is nothing short of amazing. Cantillon, HotD, rare Stone releases, Lost Abbey goods, Alpine, etc. On top of the top of the line selection, Jazz, the owner, is a great guy. Very knowledgable, easy to talk to, and willing to help a fellow beer drinker out. Jazz also is good about updating customers with what they are getting via Facebook. Overall I'd consider this place the best craft beer spot I shop at.

So much good beer....the owner Jazz is the man!!! Got some really cool stuff and the price its supposed to be at. No overcharging, no shady business. Top Notch!

its very decieving because outside there are only macro beer signs, but the plethora of craft beer kept at the right tempature is a hidden treasure within. best place ive ever been to. If you have any questions you can call him or message him on facebook. do yourself a favor go! stop wasting time go! you 'll be happy you did yourself that favor

First, I cant say I have been to a lot of craft beer places to compare this to. Even if I did i probably wouldn't be comparing for the sake of other businesses.

Anyhow man OH MAN was this place amazing. My cousin brought me here two days ago and right off the bat before i could get to the back freezers with the beer I met the owner Jazz. Super nice guy and you could tell he knew his stuff about craft beer and had a natural love for it. After seeing the nice section in the coolers and being blown away by the stuff he had. I turned around to even more stuff at room temp! the selection was absolutely amazing and the prices were great from what i know. Within a minute or two the owner Jazz asked me what i was lookin for. All I said was I love stouts and IPAs and he gave me a full rundown of all the stuff i should try that he had in stock. Or stuff i should look into trying and even named some stuff I should look out for that he didn't have!

5 of 5 for this place and again I cant say its the best spot in Socal with the lack of places I have been to, But i cant even begin to imagine being more satisfied with a shop! If your live anywhere close to this place or even close to Socal in general haha make the trip! you wont be disappointed.

Amazing selection
good prices
Even had some great lookin glassware!
Great owner

Really dont see how you can go wrong with this place

Bar none the best beer store in southern California. Amazing selection of beer!. A saw a lot of stuff that was still on the shelf that was sold out pretty much everywhere else. Good prices and all the beer that needed to be in the cold box was. The owner Jazz is a real pleasure to deal with. He knows his stuff and is very happy to help you look for stuff or make suggestions. He also had a very nice collection of glass ware for sale.

I will be stopping at this place every time I am in the area. If your from out of town this could easily be your one stop to find everything.

Finally got to check this place out, and I definitely recommend it to anyone passing through the Corona area. It is by far the best craft beer selection in town that I have found. From the expected to the unexpected, Jazz has it covered. Everyone that works there is very helpful and willing to go out of their way for you. They really know their stuff when it comes to great beers. They also have a great selection of wines and liquor. Jazz was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about his beer and made excellent recommendations. Its a great beer store and easily the best in the area. Check this place out, you wont be disappointed!
