On tap at the Olympic tavern.
Appearance: medium brown that is getting closer to a dark brown colored body with dark khaki colored head that quickly drops down to no head.
Smell: So much coconut! That is unmistakable and definitely the first thing that I smell without even needing to put my nose into the glass all serious style. Traditional fruitiness from a Quad, but it is also pretty sweet and makes you think this is an American style Quad if there is such a think. Not as fruity/dark fruits as its Belgian counterparts, but its okay because it works well here.
Taste: The aroma eludes to a massive coconut flavor from the barrels and that is right on. So much coconutty bourbon flavors melding with a sweet and slightly fruity Quad. Nice caramel notes and some oak mixes in as well. This is down right tasty!
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with low yet adequate carbonation. Very drinkable beer; before looking at the actual ABV; I would have said 9.5% ABV. Not a hint of booze in this beer. Becareful this beer goes down easily.
Overall: Wow, Revolution really needs to bottle this beer. I have not had such a fantastic barrel aged Quad since discovering Boulevard BBQ probably over 5 years ago. Such fantastic coconut flavors mixing with a sweet and fruit quad that is dangerously drinkable. More please!

Served from tap in a snifter at Firkin.
Finishing off my time at Firkin (and their Revolution party) with a barrel-aged quad. No problem with that. It pours a dark garnet topped by a finger of dark khaki foam. The nose comprises dark fruits, vanilla bean, light cinnamon, very light wood, clove, and a bit of bourbon. The taste brings in more of the same, with a decided slap of booze coming through. The body is a hefty medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a smooth feel. Overall, a very nice barreled quad (if a bit boozy) and a quality cap to a good time at the Firk'.
